Hi all,

I am looking for a very patient pediatric dentist for my 3 yr. old son. It will be his first visit, and I know it will be a challenge getting him to open his mouth. What has been your experience with Absolute, Galleria, or Adaven offices in Henderson? Do you have a recommendation of any other pediatric dentists in the Henderson area?

What can I do next?

I take my kids to Anthem Pediatric Dentists, on St Rose near Eastern. We had been looking for a good dentist for about a year before we went here. My 2 yo daughter had her first visit there and everything went smoothly. They were very kind and patient. My almost 10 yo son had to have a 2 extractions and he didn't even know the dentist had pulled it until we told him. The staff is great, too. AND we did not have to wait a month to get an appointment - I was able to take them the same week I called. I highly recommend this practice.
I also prepped my daughter for going to the dentist. We played "going to the dentist" so she knew what to expect.
Good luck \"/

Has he ever gone to the dentist with you? With me and my children they have always gone with me since they were babies, and have seen me in the chair getting my teeth cleaned and whatnot. I take them to my regular dentist that is dang near 20 miles from home, but he is awesome with children, and adults too :).
I have never had experience with any pediatric dentists in the Vegas area, sorry. Just thought I would give my experience.

G.,

I use Dr. Maryam Sina and she's on Green Valley Parkway. I've been very happy with her. We've used her for about 4 years now.

Hi -
I would love to know if you get any referrals. I took my 3 year old daughter to "A Children's Dentist" on Eastern and it was horrible. The dentist raised her voice when my daughter wouldn't open her mouth. Then said 'if you don't want a shot, open your mouth'. Then said 'I am going to make your mom leave and you will have to sit in this room all by yourself all day." We ended up walking out. I am still trying to find a good dentist, too.
Thanks

What ever you do, do not go to Dr. Stacey at Desert Sands. I ended up there because of dealing with my daughter's braces and moving in the middle of it and just figured since she is also a dentist, I'll just take my kids there. Huge mistake. She said that she found three or four cavities in my son's mouth (he was 3) and charged us a huge amount over what was covered by our insurance and then it afterwards she said that it actually wasn't cavities, but could turn into cavities. She did the same thing to my daughter who is 14 and never had one and was upset. They have lost my daughter's appointments before. Just not worth it.

We go to MacLean Dental in Seven Hills. They are very good with kids. My 5yo has had to get several fillings and we've never had a problem. They won't hold your child down or force them to do anything.

We take our girls to Galleria Pediatric and our girls have no problem going they are 6 and 3. When our 3 year old went for the first time, they let you go back with them and all of the technicians are super friendly and won't push the kids to do something they don't want.

Also, I would start now, if you haven't already to prep your son about what they do. We started by telling them that they want to count their teeth, then we worked on taking pictures and cleaning them. So far so good, we have had no major meltdowns.
