Hi - I'm looking for suggestions near Haverhill for a 9th birthday party for my daughter. My house is under construction, so our original plans for a party at home have been canceled. We've done Jump On In, Amazement, etc.. I'm ruling out Laser Craze because I'd prefer a location where the party is private and not open to the public as well. She hates crafts, so those type of parties are out. Something very physical and active is preferred. Thanks for your suggestions!

So What Happened?

Everyone gave such great ideas - enough to last me for at least a couple more birthdays! Thanks. We ended up doing the indoor mini go-karts at Checkered Flag in Ward Hill. The girls thought it was AWESOME! They're just the right age to enjoy the thrill of driving. I thought it was quite affordable, and it's nice to have a reserved area just for your own party. Thanks for all the recommendations!

Hi! If you are interested in rock climbing, I believe Metro Rock in Newburyport does birthday parties, that is a fun different kind of party. They have a web site to check out. Good Luck!

Hi L.,

We had our 12 year old son's birthday party at the new Monster Golf place in Danvers. If you go straight down route 114 to Rt 1 south it is in the first plaza you come to on your side of Rt 1, behind Circuit City and next to Golfers Warehouse. It's a good value and you have multiple package options. We had a blast! Private party room, all Halloween themed indoor mini golf.
You can bring your own food, they will provide a cake if you want. All of the paper goods are supplied by them either way. Papa Gino's near there delivers right to you if you want to make it easy, that's what we did. That was in June and he and his friends are still talking about it.
Check them out online! Just google Monster Golf.

We had the most awesome party last year for my 3 year old at Great Brook Farm State Park in Chelmsford. But other friends of mine have done it more locally. Check with the location but most of them do it for free...first come first serve. The kids have room to run, play and do games. We had a really fun family oriented scavenger hunt. It is a lot of work...but soo much fun for the entire family.

Good luck!

Bowling, karate, or gymnastics all have active parties. I agree with you on having the party place to yourself, that would be a problem. Good luck!!

My daughters attend Nancy Chippendale's dance studio in North Andover and they do bday parties. You don't have to be a ballet/tap dancer to have a party. It is more of a hip/hop - group dances type party - like cotton-eyed joe, the charlie brown, superman. They get a good work-out and it a lot of fun.
We have also done a party at the Salem Boys/Girls club (not too out of the way - close to the Toys-R-Us). You have an hour in the pool then an hour in the game room. No-one else is in the pool or game room during your party. Both places you can bring your own food/cake...
Both are reasonably priced too! Good Luck
