My husband and I are moving down with our two small children from Utah. I am looking for some parks and playgrounds that I can take my children to that are close to our home. We will be living around 10200 East and Speedway Blvd. Any suggestions of some fun places to go?

What can I do next?

There are a lot of fun parks in the area and lots of kids activities. We enjoy going to Brandi Fenton Park because of the splash zone they have. Jessie Owens park is nice and closer to where you are going to live. Case Park has is a nice tucked in park. Another thing I would suggest is getting a annual pass to the zoo. It too has a small, but fun splash park, plus you get to see all the animals.

Also check out Parks and Rec at www.ezeereg.com they have some amazing classes that the kids can participate in at an amazing price. The next session starts in the fall.

I moved down from West Jordan about 5.5 years ago, it was hard at first, but I now love it. You can contact me if you have any more questions. Also there are a lot of playgroups.

Hi A.,
There are several in your area. Our favorite is Agua Caliente park which is a nature park, thus no playground equipment, but lots of ducks, turtles and fish to feed. One with a good playground is Macdonald park. This park does get a bit crowded during spring baseball and fall football after 5 pm but it has a great snack bar with eggees(fruit slushies more healthy that typical) and even portabello mushroom grilled sandwiches. For a quick escape from the heat head up to Mount Lemon which is just 30 to 45 minutes away and 30 degrees cooler.
Hope this helps,
J. L
