ParkHopper Option at Disney. How Does It Work?

Can anyone tell me how you get from one park to the next on the park hopper option at Disneyworld? I am trying to see if this option is for us. I have a 7 and 3 1/2 yr old daughters. We did Magc kingdom only last year and want to try Hollywood studios too this year. Thanks for any tips!

Edit: yes we do plan to see two parks in one day.

One more follow up. What parking lot do I park in? The one where we will end up at the end of the night? I am guessing they (as well as myself) will be exhausted by then and want that part to go as smoothly as possible.

What can I do next?

Exactly like Heidi M. said. My son was 2 when we went and I still took a stroller because he got tired easily, and they were super nice and helpful about getting the stroller on and off the bus/shuttle.

I don't recall if what we had was claled a park hopper. We always stayed at the Polynesian. Upon checkin, we purchased tickets good for anytime at anypark from the time we checked in until midnight the day we checked out.

We would just take the monorail or bus to the park we were we wanted to go to. We often did 2 parks a day.

The park hopper lets you get into any of the parks. You would just take a bus from Magic Kingdom to Hollywood studios. They usaully have signs at the lines that you get in that show where they go to. It's really easy.

We liked the Park Hopper option. One day we had breakfast at Epcot, went and picked up a show we had missed and wanted to see at Animal Kingdom and finished the night at Magic Kingdom. Most days we'd spend 1/2 the day at one park an the evening back at Magic Kingdom since that was open later than some of the parks when we were there.

The buses and monorail are great for getting around the parks.

The park hopper option is if you want to go to two different parks in one day. Let’s say you are at Magic Kingdom during the day and are having dinner in Epcot, a park hopper pass is the only way to get into both parks unless you buy another full day pass for Epcot.

If you don't plan on visiting more than one park a day then save your money. The upgrade is nice, but not always necessary. I am not sure if they allow more than two parks per day.

The park hopper option lets you visit multiple Disney Parks on any given day. There is no limit to the number of parks you visit. Check out the hours that the parks are open the days you plan to visit. Animal Kingdom usually closes the earliest (5 pm or 7 pm) so it is very feasible to visit another park for dinner and or fireworks. We usually park the car at the Disney Park that we are planning to end our day at - write down or take a photo of your aisle number with your cell phone so it is easier to find your car late at night. Do you know about the fast past system??? If not find out about it and plan to use it to cut wait times on the most popular rides. Fast pass kiosks are located in front of the rides. You place your park ticket and and it gives you back your ticket and a ticket with a time window to visit that ride. You can go back during that window or anytime after that time. They do limit how many fast passes you can have during the day. Have fun!

with park hopper you can go to more than one park in a day. We got that option the first time we spent a week there and we exhausted ourselves trying to cram everything in. Now when we go we don't do park hopper and only do a par a day so we aren't so tired.

We planned it also, but we didn't do it. I never have. Unless we went to another park during the day and back to Magic Kingdom at night. That's my mom's favorite :).

If going between magic kingdom and epcot, you take the monorail. Between the other parks, there are disney buses to get you there.

Personally, I think the park hopper option is a waste of money if you have young children. It's a huge hassle to get everything on the bus, stroller folded, carried on, etc to get it all off and into another park. It's just easier to stay at one park all day and go to a different park the next day.

We were in Disney last year and Hopper passes are a total waste of money (esp. w/ small children.). My sister and brother have kids age 8-16 and they never even used the hoppers. You're totally exhausted after a day at the park - the line alone are enough to make you want to take a nap.

Unless your family is of Olympian stamina, don't waste your money! Do however keep your passes b/c after (I think 4 days?) it's only $5 to add a day to your Disney pass. The second week we were there we would do it and just go in and walk around, take in a few movies. I thin they ar also active for a whole year... but not sure about that.
