Hi Mamas!
My son's first birthday party will be at the end of June. Our house isn't big enough to have everyone here and inside. We don't want to spend a ton of money on this party. I'm hoping you can give me some ideas.
We are looking into having it at a local park with a pavilion we can reserve or rent. We'd like it to be either in North Austin or Cedar Park / Leander. Since it will be the end of June and most likely pretty warm the pavilion is a must to keep the little ones cool.
Thanks so much for any help!

There is a park in the Wells Branch area off of Wells Port & Klattenhoff. It has a pavillion. It also has restrooms (real ones, not port-a-potty). It's a pretty nice park. We go there with my son even though there are other parks closer to us.

S. B.,

There is a park in Cedar Park/Leander on Bagdad Road. It is Bledsoe Park. It has a covered pinic area (pavilion), a playscape, a play area for little kids with cool sprinkler things and a pool. It is a real nice place and my best friend's daughter is having her birthday at the end of May there. You have to reserve it. It is under Leander Parks & Recreation. CB

I second the suggestion of Brushy Creek Lake Park. We just went there today and had a blast! It's great for a party because the kids can play in the sprinkler park area, play in the sand, or play on the playscape. It has something for everyone.

My second choice is Springwoods Park on Anderson Mill Road. It is our favorite park. It's the shadiest park that we've ever been to. They have trees EVERYWHERE! The pavilion is $15 an hour, I believe.

Brushy Creek Lake Park sounds perfect for you!
Be sure to ask for the "birthday pavilion". It is a large covered pavilion with several long tables close to the water playscape, bathrooms, and the playscape. It's very reasonable to rent - $50 for residents of Cedar Park ($75 for non-residents) for a half day. If you haven't been yet, the water playscape is perfect for the little ones. It's basically a series of sprinklers, so no worries about pools and their deep ends! We've had several birthdays there - it's our favorite.

Try Milburn Park in Cedar Park off of sunchase and cypress creek. They have a nice big Pavilion, great park and then if anyone wants to go swimming there is a pool there you can pay to use.

Hey S.!
We had my grandson's 1st birthday party last August at the Robin Bledsoe Park in Leander off of Bagdad. It was perfect because they have the covered pavilion, barbeque pit available (we had burgers and hot dogs) and swingsets, and then just down the side walk is a water park that is safe for the little ones to run and play in the squirting water.
It was great fun and there was a breeze blowing the whole time so it never got too hot. There is a pool there also, but because the ones were so little we didn't use the pool, just the water park part.
Good luck!
