I would made her something, and have my kiddos help. It was usually something to eat, honestly. Mini loaves of banana bread, Oreo Pops, things like that. I would also give her books and educational toys that she could use in her home visits or at the Play'n'Learns. We loved our PAT lady. :)

I love that you asked this question b/c I was thinking the same thing the other day. I was thinking of getting her a toy, books, something that she could use in her job. I was also thinking of a simple gift certificate to Target or Hallmark, small, maybe $5 or $10 and having the kids color a picture to put it in. She has been great for us, and I want to "reward" her for doing such a fantastic job. Great question!

I didn't do my Parents as Teachers educator because I saw her only every 3 mos but I did get a gift for my Infant/Toddler teacher who administered speech therapy. Often times the toys she would bring were bought with her own money b/c the hospital had such a limited budget..so I was always on the look for cool toys. Some ideas are the magnetic storyboards (about $6 Walmart), block puzzles, wooden puzzles, fishing type games that use magnets, color form games (Silly Faces, Wiggles, etc.), touchy feely books, heck even buy them a case of shaving cream and they will be thrilled for sensory skills! LOL... Of course, you can also do something personal for them but most of these folks just love pouring things back into the programs.

Another idea...if you are looking to make room for your kids new holiday toys you may ask your PAT educator if they have any families that could use a Christmas/holiday donation...PAT often cross paths with a lot of underpriveleged folks and kids in HeadStart so they will guarantee the stuff will go to a good use. Happy Holidays!
