Paleo Solution Same as Paleo Diet?

I read a review that said that buying the separate book The Paleo Diet was a waste of money and to just stick with the original book. But, I want to lose weight. If this is true, why would there be two books? Has anyone just done the Paleo Solution and lost weight?

What can I do next?

Hi there B.K.L,
I bought the book Paleo Solutions by Robb Wolf. He breaks it all down for you and makes it very simple to follow. I also just purchased EveryDay Paleo by Sarah Fragoso. She writes a blog called everyday paleo you should check out. She has great recipes and tips. I went paleo on docs advice, it has been two months and I have lost twenty pounds and feel great. Give it a try. It is worth it. Good luck to you.

Personally I would look at South Beach before I did Paleo. Both emphasize low carbs/good carbs but SB is less meat oriented. But to answer your question-you do not need to have 2 books and the reason there ARE 2 books is that they are successfull. So why not make another book about it. If you ARE buying a book maybe go with the most current edition? You could also get all you need online too. Like lists of foods to eat/avoid. Do it for a week to see if you like it.

I'm doing something similar (almost identical) to the paleo diet, but it's more for medical reasons bc I have celiac disease.

It's called SCD diet (specific carbohydrate diet).
it's basically the same bc all you can really eat is:
meat
veggies (most)
fruit (no peels)
nuts
some cheeses (no dairy)
honey

so no vinegar, sauces, sugar, dairy, grains (bread etc) or starches (potatoes, rice, corn, beans or products made from such etc).

literally ALL you eat is meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts and some cheese. You can use spices (i think you cant use spices in paleo).

I do this diet every couple of years to reset my digestion due to gut issues related to celiac disease and i ALWAYS drop weight pretty quickly and generally have to increase my almond butter or honey intake to PREVENT rapid weight loss.

the issue people run into with this diet or paleo is that if you don't follow it to the T, then it won't work. your body will just get confused. if you do paleo for breakfast and lunch but splurge regularily on dinner (like a friend of mine), then no, you won't lose weight.

good luck!!
