Oven Cleaning... What Works Best?

Hey Ladies I need some ideas on what works best for cleaning an oven out. I love in an apt and I clean regularly but need to do a deep clean on the inside of my oven. It is a self cleanin oven and I can not find a cleaner that is for self cleaning ovens. May be a silly question since the oven has a self cleaning button lol. But would still like to hear what you do and what's best to get all the grime and stuff that has spilled over cleaned out. :)

What can I do next?

If it is self-cleaning, just get out the manual and follow the directions. The reason you can't find any products is because they don't make any. They will damage the interior of the oven.

Self cleaning ovens super heat to a really really high temperature during the process. Mine, I just lock it, and turn it on. When it is done (2-3 hours later) I let it cool, open it and wipe out the soot with a damp sponge. The end.

Do not use any product in a self clean oven. Let it go through the self clean cycle, then once it is cool wipe it out with a damp cloth. The self clean cycle will turn all the grime and spills into ash.

If you don't have the manual then call your landlord and ask how to clean it. Or look up the brand and model on the Internet and find the manual there.

With my self cleaning oven, I was told to first wipe out any heavy deposits before starting the cycle. Otherwise the heat from the self cleaning cycle will burn up the deposits which you will need to wipe out if they were heavy.

Sounds like you don't want to use the self cleaning cycle. I don't understand. I know of no other way to clean a self cleaning oven, tho I suppose you can use a product and ruin the self-cleaning feature.

Wait a minute. Do you have a continuous clean oven rather than a self cleaning oven? I think I've heard of ovens that continuously clean and do not have a cleaning cycle. If that's the case, I suggest that you have to wipe out excess food after each use. Again, I've not heard of a way to clean it.

If it's continuous clean without a cycle, I might try heating the oven u[ with a bowl of vinegar and water. The condensation from that my loosen anything stuck on.

You are not supposed to use a cleaner when you use the ovens high temp cleaning cycle. That said: on Easter weekend I set my double ovens to self clean and ended up destroying 3 different parts bc one of the fuses was defualty! After a weekend repairman came out we decided to just replace the ovens (repairs were over $700 for the parts)!! While he was here he said they recommend NEVER using the high temp self clean. Just to use easy off and then wipe and vacuumed out! Hope this helps!
