On Sept. 6 I found out that I have an ovarian cyst on my left ovary that is 5cm big. I have been having every early pregnancy symptom as well. I started having unprotected sex with my new bf on Aug. 25 and have been till the present. I know that the cyst can cause pregnancy symptoms but i think I have been having to many to a cyst. My breasts have gotten fuller and sensitive, I get heartburn afterI eat, I am constipated and bloated, my legs are achy, I get headaches, I have been super tired lately, my stomach has gotten hard (because of gas), my waist has gotten bigger and I feel sick to my stomach on and off. The only thing missing is a positive pregnancy test! I have 2 kids already the only thing throwing me off is the cyst and a negative test. My doc says it might be to early to get a positive but I am going nuts wondering! Oh and I have been spotting since exactly one week after we had sex unprotected sex the first time. It usually only lasts a day an is very light when it happens. What do you think??

FYI--- I was on birth control and it got screwed up right before I got with him, my skin is allergic to latex an yes NEW boyfriend because I just divorced my husband. Now I know we all learned in grade school to not say anything if we can't be nice so if there are any negative thoughts that don't follow with advice... don't say it. I was not shooting to get pregnant but I do realize my actions are risky so if I am I am. I am 27 and am a big girl :)

What can I do next?

Do you want to get pregnant? It sure sounds like it.

I would stop having sex all together right now. If you aren't pregnant, that would be really good, because you probably need laproscopic surgery to remove that cyst.

Non-bursting cysts are a little scary because they CAN be cancerous. There are different types of cysts, and though the bursting kind hurt in a way that rivals giving birth or passing a kidney stone (I'm not kidding about this, having had it happen twice and pulled a muscle in my arm during one of them), at least it and the pain afterwards is over by the next day. With a non-bursting cyst, especially one YOUR size, it can cause fever and pain that can make you feel like you have appendicitis. I called the ER nurse on a Sunday night, I hurt so badly and asked her if I should come to rule out appendicitis. She asked me if I could jump up and down on one foot. I could, and she told me that it was most likely NOT appendicitis and that I should go to an urgent care center (they were VERY busy that night at the ER) to get checked out. I did, they gave me a shot, and told me that they THOUGHT I had an ovarian cyst. Turns out they were right. It wouldn't go away, so I ended up having to have surgery to remove it. It was 7 cms by then and my doctor told me that usually, he isn't able to save the ovary by the time they are THAT large - usually there's too much bleeding. He WAS able to save mine.

I had already had two kids by then, C., and didn't plan anymore. After this is when I started having the bursting cysts. They put me on birth control pills in order to stop getting the bursting cysts. It worked, thank goodness.

The point I want to make is that a cyst the size of the one you have really needs to come out. You have a lot of symptoms that I certainly think can be caused by the cyst. I really hope you are NOT pregnant with a cyst like this.

Good luck - I hope the timing of everything works out for you to be healthy, and if you want to have another baby, to get pregnant after you are healthy again.

I'm sorry -- I just can't get past the third sentence that you are having unprotected sex with your "new" boyfriend. I'm wondering why? I can't tell if you want to be pregnant or not. I'm hoping you are healthy and that you find the result you are looking for.

Well my only comment is about the latex issue. I have the same problem and Lifestyles makes a condom called SKYNS. It's a polisporene (SP) condom and I LOVE them :P No irritation, so they may be worth a try if you don't want a baby right now. They also make polyurethane ones, but they still bothered me.

Good Luck!

I knew all 3 times I was pregnant right away, like a day later. You know your body better than anyone. If you feel pregnant then I think you probably are. Congrats!

You need to take a test to be sure. I recommend these bc they're cheap and you get a lot. I'll NEVER buy them at the drugstore again - holy rip off!
