Other Choices Besides Shutterfly?

I have used Kodak Gallery for years to share photos with friends and families and now because they went bankrupt they are shutting down the site and moving everything to Shutterfly. I am not a fan of Shutterfly and I don't do facebook. I like to also order photos for albums, do calendars for hubby's office, photo books for the grandparents etc. What other sites are out there to use? I don't like Shutterfly because I feel that the quailty is poor when buying things from their site. For example a family member put together a nice book for one of my kids but half the photos came out blurry/fuzzy when I know the original pictures were not. I have other examples as well so it's just not this one time. Do you have a site that you like? Thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone. It looks like everyone likes Shutterfly but maybe that's because there are not many other choices out there. I have not had good experiences with them and think their product quality is very poor but maybe that's because I am so used to Kodak. I will look into the other suggestions and do some web searching but it looks like I'll probably end up with Shutterfly because I have to due to lack of other choices. Thanks for answering.

I have always used Snapfish, and feel they have good prices & quality. I always felt like Shutterfly was overpriced.....I have used them sometimes when I had coupons but still feel like I overpaid. Snapfish is great and easy to use.

Hi M., I've created at least 15 photobooks and have spent quite a bit of money with Shutterfly and they have all been of exceptional quality. If yours came out out fuzzy, I think it's more than likely a user issue.

Snapfish is another online option.

I agree with LeeLee. My sister and I have made countless calendars and yearly photo books of our kids and they have all turned out wonderful. A little yellow triangle will pop up on the photo if the quality isn't high enough or if the user tried to enlarge the photo too much. If you ignore the triangle and use the picture anyway, it will turn out fuzzy.

I tried Snapfish before I went to Shutterfly and I was pretty happy with the outcome. I switched to Shutterly b/c my sister and I needed to be on the same site.

You do have to make sure the photos themselves are high quality. If they don't have a high enough resolution they won't print out nicely. I order from shutterfly a lot and haven't had any issues except the one time I tried to include photos with a low resolution. That time the pic ended up fuzzy. You might try contacting their customer service to see if anyone can help you diagnose the problem.

I also use Snapfish a lot, maybe a bit more than Shutterfly. Picaboo is another option that's a little higher end, though they're more expensive than Snapfish and Shutterfly and more difficult to use. You can go through the Walgreens site too, though unless you're picking it up in person I think maybe they partner with Snapfish for stuff like photo gifts.

Good luck!

I make scrapbooks for people and this is one of my top three reasons why I do. Shutterfly, Snapfish, etc all have the same basic layouts and I agree that usually the picture quality is not the greatest. I think hand-made books have a more unique and personal touch and not the "mass produced" look! If you print out the pictures yourself you would know for sure the quality of them then make your own scrapbook (or have one made for you)! You could also get your own website and you, your family, and your friends could upload pictures to it (I know this doesn't really solve your problem of having your pictures printed but it would still enable your family to view them).

I agree with what others said about Shutterfly ... I haven't experienced your same problems. That said, look in to Costco. I get a lot of prints there and can even send pics for printing to other stores in other states for family to pick up, rather than paying shipping from shutterfly. Best wishes.

Creative Memories does a great job with photos, as well as scrapbooks, photo books, calendars, etc. They are first and foremost a scrapbook company and are fanatical about quality.

I have only used Snapfish so far. Once I had an issue with one of their gift products and without even questioning it they sent me a replacement and I even could keep the item in question.
Furthermore I always only buy when they have a special running. You will get e-mails about it.
