It's time for my 12 year old to get braces. I need any information on orthodontists in Rockwall. I've looked at Dr. Hodges & Apple Orthodontics websites. I've seen a billboard for Comfort Dental for braces. Does anyone have any advice or reviews on any of these or others?

What can I do next?

We are in Rockwall as well and started with Drs. Allen and Allen and really had a bad experience. We were then refered to Dr. Hardy Fields in Mesquite: - ###-###-####. He was fantastic, utitlized the damon bracket technology that our first ortho in AZ had started her on, was resonable in fees (we had no ortho coverage) and his office if very parent/patient interactive, while Dr. Allen was not at all.

Hi Marika,

My husband is a dentist in Greenville, and he recommends Dr. Andrew Hodges. He said to stay away from Apple and other chains - they may seem cheaper, but they will quite possibly keep your sweet child in braces longer to increase the overall cost. Most orthodontists will give you a very good total treatment estimate and then allow you to make payments throughout the process, with little to no cost change (unless, of course, something major and unpredictable happens). Oh, and there is a terrific orthodontist in Murphy - Dr. Fessler. Also, have you asked your dentist?

Hope this helps!

I HATE Monarch Dental, but LOVE their ortho department.

We met with an orthodontist in Mesquite where the main doctor went on and on about his daughter. She had gone into ortho and he even had a letter that she wrote him on his wall, framed. It was the nicest letter to her dad, thanking him for supporting her and passing on his love of teeth (basically). Well, the doc in Mesquite ended up being too expensive. Our insurance sent us to Rockwall's Monarch.

Begrudgingly, we went. Low and behold, it is the daughter of the man in Mesquite. She is wonderful. I recommend her 100%.

I highly recommend Rockwall's Apple Orthodontix. I went to another consult in the area and I was impressed the most by Dr. Hoybjerg at the Apple office. He was very knowledgeable and treatment time was equal to the other consult. I have had friends go to Dr. Hoybjerg as well and they found the same to be true (treatment times weren't long). Dr. Hoybjerg has been really great to work with and he has been very kind to my child and me. What is another great thing about Rockwall's Apple practice, is that there is only one doctor, Dr. Hoybjerg. Their prices are also very reasonable. One thing that I really respect is that I could tell from my consult with Dr. Hoybjerg was that he wouldn't suggest something for my child unless he really needed it (ie- he's not out to just place braces- he wanted what was best for us). I highly recommend his practice to all my friends and family.

My daughter did a phase 1 with Dr. Hodges last May, got an expander and braces and getting ready to get them off in a couple of months. We love Dr. Hodges and would highly recommend. Interviewed a couple of other Ortho's in Rockwall that I will not name but know now that we made the best decision. The office is also very convenient for us and his staff is A+.

Best of Luck to you.
