Opinions on Buying Cell Phones at Costco Type Places

I am a Verison customer and have always bought my phone upgrades at Version stores. But this time I am tempted to buy the upgrade at somewhere like Costo (its cheaper). What are the pros and cons of doing this? I am sure Version will not be happy with me, but do they treat you differently? Are the Costco phones referbished? Are they lessor quality? You get a "bonus pack" of supplies, but the supplies look pretty knock-off and cheap. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated : )

It's just a Kiosk inside of a Costco. Shop away - you're good.

Getting them at Costco is the same as getting them for the actual store. It goes through your phone company. They are new phones and you usually get perks that you would not get getting them in the store. When I got mine they gave me all the charges I could need and two carrying cases. The last 4 phones we have gotten we got from there. The charges and case were very good. You would pay a lot of money.

Go with Costco. They are an authorized dealer and contracted by Verizon. They are new phones unless specified but this is the same at the Verizon store. I bought mine recently at Costco and got a brand new phone, rebate on the phone (which I think Verizon got away from), plus I got the kit which works well. Verizon doesn't really care where you buy your phone because your contract is still both Verizon

We just got new phones. Went to Verizon and walked out because we were treated rudely. Went to Radio Shack... ditto. Went to Target and were treated with respect, so got our phones there. Very happy with the service received and with the phones. My advice is get your phones where they give you good service.

We have bought multiple Verizon phones at Costco. As noted, it is a kiosk inside Costco, not actually Costco itself providing the service. The phones have been new and I have gotten great service. The only drawback is they don't have all the phones at Costco so as long as they carry the phone you want then I say go for it.

SAMS called Verizon the same as the Verizon store would have. We paid one cent and the contract was extended 2 years. The Verizon store told us they didn't have that offer. His phone was brand new with a warranty and we did not have to wait in line. I also found out the name of the old phone I wanted and where to buy a refurbished one online.
I have no complaints.

I also have Verizon, and they don't treat you any differently if you buy your phone somewhere else. I have never bought from Costco, but the phones themselves are from the same manufacturers, and they would have to tell you if they were refurbished. I usually buy phones at www.wirefly.com, because that is where I have found the best deals.
