Old Breastpump

Does anyone know what I should do with my old breastpump? Is there a place that recycles the old pump motor? Or do you just toss it out in the trash?
I know you can't give it to someone to re-use, but I thought someone, somewhere might reuse the motor.
Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

Why can't you let someone else re-use it? I bought mine on craigslist and it is fabulous. The plastic is sterilized and should be fine fr anyone else. i definately wouldn't just throw it away. Contact a womens shelter or hospital or something, but don't just toss it.

Kid to Kid resale stores carry Medula pumps. I believe it's the only breast pump that they even buy from customers to resell.

Hey B.,

Your breastpump is definitely reusable for another mother if the tubing and breast "cups" are replaced. I donated mine to a mother right on this website and you could also go to craigslist.org and donate or sell it. You could donate it to a charitable organization for women, as well. I don't know what are local options for women's charities are, I'm ashamed to say, but you could call around. Breastpumps are so expensive, as you well know, so you'd be doing a sistah (and her baby)a huge favor by donating yours.
Take Care,

Al

I know that on Thursday April 23rd in Down town Chandler where the farmers market is they are having an Earth day event as well as the normal market.

Part of the event they are going to have lots of different recycle bins for every thing you can think of. My suggestion is take your pump there and ask. The farmers market organizer didnt know exactly what bins their was going to be but she said anything you can think of like old cell phones, printer cartridges, computer parts, batteries etc.

Bring it down and stay for the market, music and story times
