I bought my oldest daughter her Halloween costume today! lol... haha. I know WAY early but we both fell in love with it and couldn't pass it up. Now fingers crossed she doesn't change her mind!!!

Anyone else pick their kids costumes up yet? Or just silly me! hehe

What can I do next?

I've thought about asking what they want to be...but then they will want it now...and I have no desire to go get them...

Maybe in a few weeks. I wish thought that were true...I will be the mom making do with slim pickings! As always!

I ordered my daughter's Butterfly costume last night and am waiting to see if my son Gigantor will need a new one by October or if the baby Hot Dog costume I have will fit. My hubby and I just need to make a run to Goodwill. We're going to be Zombie parents taking our Zombie Butterfly trick-or-treating and our son is going to be dinner!

Beat you!
I bought my daughters last year on clearance.
Thankfully, we were just talking about it this weekend and she still wants to wear it! It's a really cool purple and black poofy witch dress.

My 5-year old picked out a Princess Aurora costume at Costco a week ago. She really wanted the Ariel costume but the mermaid tail/skirt part was too narrow and I could just see her falling down while wearing it because she would have to take such small steps. I always try to get hers early because I don't want to be scrounging around last minute with nothing that she likes. That's just one less thing to worry about now.

Not yet. I try to wait until about 2 days before because my 10 year old is notorious for changing her mind once it's already home. We've had a couple of years (like last year for example) where we had to kind of scavenge some sparkly wings & make-up & turn clothes she already had into a costume because she changed her mind so many times there was nothing left to pick from.

We know what we are buying, but I am going to wait until Mid-Spetember to be sure no one has a growth spurt and our 3 year old doesn't change his mind!

My daughter (just turned 4) is funny - I've asked her about it a few times and she doesn't know. Now almost every day, she tells me, "I STILL don't know what I want to be for Halloween!" I just keep telling her it's okay, she has plenty of time to figure it out!

BTW, I saw Halloween candy being sold in the stores here starting last week. I think the Back To School stuff started as soon as school was out in June (most schools here don't start until the day after Labor Day). Christmas stuff will be out by the end of September.

My little boy decided today to be an alien, and he wants a "cone" shaped head. (where the heck did he come up with this?) Anyways, my husband, (yes husband) makes my kids costumes each year. Can't wait to tell him this one tonight. ha ha ha

We have already gotten our daughter's costume. We ordered it online and the vendor we ordered from just happened to have a sale. They never have a sale on the items we want so I just went ahead and got it. She's going to be a prissy little ladybug. She's only 9 months so she doesn't have an opinion.

When my son was 2, 3, 4, and 5 yrs old I bought (or made) his costume about a month ahead and every year on Halloween morning he refused to dress in it. REFUSED. He just did not want to be x anymore. I don't plan ahead so much now. I wait till the very last minute and then we figure it out together...buying some parts and making others. We do it in the week before Halloween.

We just ordered ones for the boys yesterday actually. I need time to try to alter one of them because the only size it came in was too big for my son and he's sold on it. We'll be picking up my daughters very soon. We have a couple special Halloween events before Oct 31st so we need ours early. We're all getting excited!

My son has 4 super hero costumes in his dress up drawer that I have picked up at yard sales or at after Halloween clearance sales. I am going to have him pick one of those to wear. I have 2 foster daughters right now so I am probably going to start making something for them to wear just in case they are still in our home during Halloween. My other 2 foster kids are babies so I don't have to worry about them complaining about their costumes and will dress them in something I have saved from previous years. I am very excited about making girls costumes this year, since to this point, we have only had boys.
