1.I would love to join some kind of mom group with people my age, and kids my daughter's age. I live in the Tulsa area and I have her involved in different things from month to month at a local park, but I would like something more steady, so she can get to play with other kids, and I can have people to talk to myself.
2. I would like to get my daughter into a mothers day out program or a part time preschool but I'm not sure on how to go about that. I'm strapped for money to mother's day stands out more in my mind. Any advice would be great. I stay at home with her and she's acting more like an adult than a 3 yr old (attitude included)She's super smart, and I think if she was around other children in more of an education based atmosphere she could really advance.
3. About a year ago she had this sudden fear that polar bears are in her room. She refuses to sleep in there, but will sleep in the spare bedroom. She used to sleep fine, and on occassion I would sleep in there when she woke up with a bad dream. Now she wants me to sleep in there every night. This bit has been going on for the last 6 months. I've done everything to convince her there aren't polar bears in her room, the funny thing is she talks about them alot and loves them.
She was scared of them in the dark at first, then it stopped for months, when I tried to get her back into her room with her new bedding she picked out, the second day she was freaking out again. Now in the day time she thinks their coming for her.
Any ideas?
4. I would like to plan a wedding for some time next year. I would like it to be outside, so preferably spring/fall. Any suggestions on a nice place to have it that's not too expensive?

Sorry I have so many questions. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

Hey J.,\
My name is S. and I was just going to respond to your Mother's Day Out ?. First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow has a Mother's Day Out program that's really great. You can go to their website to find out more info. Just go to fbcba.org, put your cursor on Ministries and it will give you a list. Click on the Mother's Day Out and it will give you all of the info.. They are also starting a Preschool program in the fall. I personally know Genea Pine, the Director, and she's awesome! Good Luck!

Have you tried MOPS? (Mothers of Preschoolers?) There is one in Jenks at Life Connection, every other Wednesday. The Moms usually have breakfast and talk, and the kids are in a learning environment.

Hi J.,

I have been going to Mops (Mothers of Preschoolers) at The Life Connection in Jenks. They meet every other Wednesday. It really is a great group. I have been going for about a year & a half now. I have 2 1/2 year old twin girls. They love going to play with the other kids. If you would like more info feel free to email me at ____@____.com. I don't know anything about Mother's Day Out programs although it would be great to find one of those. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

J.,
Hi there! Our daughters seem to be close in age so I wanted to let you know about what Gracie has enjoyed. I too felt she needed more stimulation than staying home all the time so I have been attending MOPS at our church, First Baptist Broken Arrow. They also offer a very affordable mother's day out program. For 1 day a week from 9:30-2:30 it is only $70/month. It is less than all others I have priced. The church is super clean and absolutely a wonderful place to take kids! This summer they are having a day camp that runs every Thurs. In June and July and the cost for it is $115 total. The website is www.fbcba.org. If you have any other questions let me know. Message me if you need more info. Oh about the wedding, have you looked at Dresser Mansion? It is beautiful!

Find a local MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers) there are lots of them around in the Tulsa area.
www.mops.org

Most groups meet twice a month. You will get to fellowship with other moms, there will be food, a speaker and a craft project. Your daughter will get to be in a class with kids her age. They will do a bible lesson, art project and play. The group I'm in costs $25 for 4 months (8 meetings), thats just $3 a meeting!
