I am looking for an OBGYN. We are wanting to get pregnant with our second child and my insurance changed from when we had our first child. I have IHC select health and would love some referrals... good doctors are hard to find. I would prefer a female but I am open to any good doctor. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Dr Kathryn Walker at Alta View Hospital (IHC). She did a wonderful job during my pregnancy but she really shined during the delivery. However, she only accepts OB patients (you must be pregnant first) and she is notorious for running behind - like 45 minutes to an hour.

I am a mother of two girls, a two year old and a four month old. Christian Froerer with Cottonwood OB is my doctor. He is outstanding. Prior to becoming pregnant with my first I was seeing a female gyno, but once I conceived I started seeing Dr. Froerer at the recommendation of my aunt who is a nurse in the nursery at the hospital where he delivers. I liked my female doctor, but I love Dr. Froerer. I immediately felt comfortable with him. He is very patient, easy to talk to, and he is genuinely interested in how you are doing and feeling. And although he is a young doctor, he exudes confidence and professionalism.
My husband and I don't know yet if we will have any more children, but I can honestly say that if we do not, I will be sad that I won't have another pregnancy, labor, and delivery experience with Dr. Froerer.
If you are interested, here is his information:

Jamie,
I LOVE my OB- Yvette LaCoursier and I also really like Susie Rose. They are both U of U OBs so i am not sure what IHC does with U of U docs. I woudl be worth a call. THey both work out of both Madsen Women's Clinic and the hospital clinic.

Good Luck!

I thought having a male OBGYN would be really hard but I love Dr. Smith. He is very wonderful and sympathetic to his patients and works really well with first timers and beyond. He was recommended to me by my sister a little over 5 years ago and we adore him. Here is his contact information:

Melissa Brown is very good. If you need a specialist, I definitely recommend D. Ware Branch. Both are located at the new IMC Hospital off of 5300 South and I-15. I have your same insurance, and haven't had problems with either.

Dr Christopher Hutchison at Granger Madical Clinic is wonderful. He delivers at few Hospitals in the Valley, (at least he did) so you may have a choice on where to go for that, and I also had IHC insurance when my last daughter was born. He has delivered two of my four and I think he is excellent. He is married and has 5 kids of his own and always takes time to answer questions and ask about your life and family. Plus he is very handsome that didn't hurt either. (ha ha) Good luck
