Hello everyone! I am hoping to get reviews on the female gynecologists at either the Kaiser - Campbell offices or the Santa Clara facility. I am young, taking "the pill", and looking to get pregnant within the next year or two. I want someone who is open to alternative methods of healing, childbirth, etc. and need someone who is gentle. (My last experience at a pap smear was not so good) Also, if there is someone you do not recommend, I would appreciate hearing about that as well. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Hi K.,

I HIGHLY recommend Dr.Christina Bryant at the Campbell facility. I have been going to her for years and absolutely love her! I cannot say enough good things about her.

I just had my first baby in Oct and she was amazing - my husband loved her as well (he even jokingly asked if she could be his doctor). She's super easy to talk to and very open-minded. Every time I went to see her it was like visiting a friend, very comfortable. When it was time to have my daughter, she wasn't on-call at the hospital so someone else delivered her, but Dr. Bryant called me twice to see how I was doing. She's awesome and so is the rest of her staff.

Hope that helps!

Hey K.,
At the Santa Clara Homested campus I would suggest Dr. Maloney. She is very gentle, nice and above all calm. She is one of those people who exudes a sense of calm which is very helpful when trying and becoming pregnant. I delivered my last one through her and she was great.
Hope this helps,
S.

I highly recommend Michelle Young. She's at Kaiser Santa Clara. She's gentle, friendly, funny and listens to all concerns. I'm not sure if she has a closed panel, but it's worth checking out!
Good Luck!

I liked Dr. Borrison at Los Olivos (Los Gatos, on National).
She was really nice and worked with me for several years as I dealt with some issues. I wasn't ready for surgery and she didn't push. She came up with alternatives. Ultimately, I decided on surgery and it was a good thing.

I'm not so sure about the alternative treatments.

I used midwives for my last two pregnancies. I LOVED them!! I used an OB for my first pregnancy and did not have a great experience.

I went to a practice that has three midwives and one OB: Kavita Noble, Kay Smolley, and Amy Meier, and Dr. O'Neill.

Their office is in Campbell. The midwives are VERY supportive of mother-centered treatment, natural birth, and really respect your choices.

Dr. Nadine Graven...she's wonderful. She delivered my daughter 6 years ago and if it weren't for a change in insurance coverage, I would still be seeing her.
