Newly pregnant with my second child. I work near Northwestern Hospital but I live closer to Loyola Hospial. I'm trying to decide which hospital and physician's group to go with. Looking for a good ob-gyn and info on birthing at Loyola. Thanks.

I live in Brookfield too, and had a OB Gyn in Willowbrook - West Sub Women's Center. It is 4 female OB's and 2 midwifes. They are great. They deliver at either LaGrange or Hinsdale. I delivered at Hinsdale and had a great experience.

Hi S.!

I had my son at Loyola & my OB is the BEST! Her name is Suad Shuber - her son works with her also and she was/is magnificent! She is very, very caring, smart and exactly someone you want there when your giving birth! Loyola also was a wonderful place to have my baby. They were very, very kind, considerate and the food was even good! She has office hours at Loyola on Wednesday's & then at her office near Harlem & Irving the rest of the week. She's been doing this a long time & would take great care of you.

I gave birth to my second child at Loyola last March and I thought it was a great hospital to deliver at. My first child was born at Rush University Med. Ctr. and I thought Loyola was better. The labor and delivery nurses are excellent at Loyola. My labors both last about 40 hours, so I had my fair share of nurses. I have diabetes, so I used the high risk ob's at Loyola, and they were all excellent.

S.-

I went to Northwestern to deliver my daughter 16 months ago. I saw that someone recommended Tacoma McKnight, who is in the practice with my OB/GYN Dr. Michelle Baer. I really liked both of these doctors, but they are in a practice of 8 and I had neither deliver me, which I didn't like.

If you happen to find someone who you like at Loyola or in the area, would you mind forwarding the information to me? I'd be interested in potentially checking out someone new, even though I do like my current docs. They're just hard to get in to see and, like I said, I didnt' love that they don't necessarily deliver you.

Also, since you're in Brookfield as am I, if you're ever interested in meeting up I have a 16 month old and work part-time, but we're always looking to meet new people!

Good luck with your search!!

I have a ob-gyn group in LaGrange they are wonderful, they are in the LaGrange Hospital, Womens Health Providers on willowspring Rd. They deliver out of Hinsdale or LaGrange Hospital. Since you are in Brookfield would you know a Day care provider in the area of Brookfield, LaGrange, Riverside?

Hi,
I have a great ob-gyn at Northwestern. Her name is Dr. Tacoma McKnight and she is wonderful, especially if you are an easy going person. She's very down-to-earth. She does, however, belong with a group and therefore, will not necessarily deliver your child when the time comes.

Hope that is helpful!
