Nursing Cut off Time

I nursed until 9 months only because my son decided to stop at that time. What works for me, or you, or anyone else is such a personal decision. If you want to nurse much longer than that, that's great! And it's no one else's business why. I know someone who is still nursing her 2 year old. Extended nursing is ok and it's up to you. You can find A LOT of support with the La Leche League. You may have a group that is local to you. nursing past a year is absolutely fine, you still providing necessary nutriens. if both of you are injoying the process, there's nothing wrong with doing it untill you're ready to stop. I read in statistics that average age of weaning the breasfed baby in Europe is around 2.5 - 3 years old!!! around the word is between 3.5-4 years old. however in US everyone tells you 6-12 months. way before formula exsisted, mothers bresfed their babies for a long time, now times has changed, but its only your decision and what ever feels right for You!
don't be ashamed if you still doing it after a year, u r doing a great job by continuing it that long! not everyone is so fortunate . don't worry about responding to others- its really no ones business, its wellbeing and health of you child thats important. try to give short answers without a lot of explanantions, eventually they'll stop asking. great job, keep it up!

and Teething has nothing to do with breasfeeding its normal for teeth to come out past 8 m.o. , my childs 1st teeth came out at 7m , the next 2 at 15 mns. my friends kids teeth did not comeout till passed 1 yo.

The time to stop is when you and your child feel it's time. I have three children. My first I breastfed for 3 months, my second for 6 months, and my third I breastfed for 18 months. There is nothing wrong with breastfeeding past one, but be aware that it is harder to wean past one. Good luck.

Do what YOU feel is right. It is hard when you have ppl butting in I know. But my sis breastfeed Twin boys for 16 months. I breastfeed both my kids until a year. DS had a VERY hard time weaning. My husband's aunt was nursing her 4 year old at night. So...you do what works for YOU! I wish I could give you places to find other moms...I met a wonderful group of women online at babycenter when I was expecting my second...maybe you can make a request her for other mom's in your area.
