I have been off of the pill for about 2 1/2 years, at least. I am not ovulating normally, so I am having to take hormones to have a period and then hopefully ovulate!!! Is there someone else out there that is going through this??? What do I need to do???

What can I do next?

There is a site called www.tryingtoconceive.org... this cumulative group of women, some nurses, have a vast knowledge of fertility issues. Go to their TTC General forum or member chat and ask... you will get so much info...
GOOD LUCK

Try reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility (or Take Charge of Your Fertility). It's an EXCELLENT book that explains how to detect when you ovulate and what your cycle is doing exactly. It can help you pinpoint problems and help you learn when the best time to try for pregnancy is.

When we were trying with baby #2, we tried for six months. I know that doesn't seem like a long time, but with baby #1, there was no trying (we weren't trying to get prego and did right away). So it was very strange that it was taking so long. People had been suggesting to me to drink Red Raspberry Leaf tea and saying that it would help balance my hormones and make me more fertile. For whatever reason I didn't try it for the first five months. By the sixth month, I drank it regularly (a glass three times a day). It definitely did adjust my cycle and hormones and I became pregnant immediately. Same story when we tried with baby #3. I was nursing 100% and I'd had one period that was hardly anything. I knew I wasn't ovulating yet. We wanted to have another baby, so I started drinking red raspberry. That next month, my cycle returned very heavy and obviously ovulating. Then I got pregnant. Do some research online for "red raspberry leaf tea pregnancy" and see what you find. If you are having hormonal problems, it can only help, though it doesn't always produce the same results in everyone...but you'd need to drink it regularly and it's gross. They do have capsules to take in place of the "tea" (it's not technically really tea either!). I hope it's not too long before you are pregnant! I can't imagine how difficult that is!

A.,

In conjunction with all the medical, you may want to try:

Red Raspberry Leaf supplelments as well as Evening Primrose Oil Supplelments and some good ol' relaxation (if possible). Do a little research on both herbs and determine if this sounds like an option for you.
Good luck to you!

Hi A.,
the chiropractor that is treating me for my back pain is giving accupuncture too. He helped many women to get pregnant just with accupuncture or accupuncture in combination with infertility treatments. A lady I know just was in the news again because of her successful pregnancy with accupuncture. Maybe that is something you can check into. I know it does sound strange, but we just don't know enough about Eastern Medicine.

Good Luck

Have you tried Chlomid yet? I was not having a period or ovulating on my own. I took one medicine for my period and then after I started I took Chlomid to make me ovulate. After the 3rd month of this, I am now 9 weeks pregnant!! Just an idea...

I know it can be frustrating but there is hope!!! I have a friend that went through something similar. She ended up seeing a homeopathic doctor who told her to eliminate as many chemicals as possible from her home and personal care products. She converted her home to safer products and was pregnant in 4 months after trying for 2 years. A lot of times we do not realize what role toxins play. I have actually done a lot of research in this area and would be happy to share if you are interested.
Visit www.LiveTotalWellness.com/texas for more info on safer alternatives and good luck :)

If you have been trying for at least a year, talk to your OB/GYN about consulting with an infertility specialist. I cannot recommend more highly Dr. James Douglas in Plano; he is the reason that I have two healthy beautiful sets of twins after six long years of hard work. Dr. Douglas has a very high success rate; search for him and review his web site. His staff members are compassionate and caring and efficient. good luck.
