Ok, I really need help : )! I am 5'6" and my weight ranges from 125-130 lbs, which I think is pretty normal. I look thin everywhere except for my stomach. If you would look at me after a meal, from the side, I appear to be in my second trimester. I have had 3 children and read somewhere that pregancy can separate your ab muscles. I obviously need to work out more, but I'm not needing to lose a ton of weight, and they say you can't spot reduce a certain area. ANy ideas on the best/quickest way to see results? Cardio, weights, yoga, pilates? Foods to avoid? Help!!!!

This is a condition medically known as diastasis recti. I have it. As diagnosed by a doctor. Some women's muscles dont ever go back together the way they were before (without surgery of course). There are lots of exercises you can do to help, AND be forwarned that some standard AB workouts (crunches even) can make the condition worse. The main focus should be on tightening your core and contraction those muscles together.
Here is a really good article on the subject:

kickboxing!! Not the serious sport kind but the cardio/workout type. It is the absolute best at shaping your entire abs - lower/side/back everywhere! I love it.

If you have diastasis...separation of the abdominal wall... then you need to do stomach exercises that work the obliques... the sides of the stomach muscles.
ie: doing not crunches, but stomach exercises where you cross one elbow to the opposite knee, for example.
Look online for oblique stomach exercises.
THIS is what my Doctor told me to do. Do not do stomach "crunches"... this will exacerbate the problem.

I have abdominal separation... and this is my problem too. I "look" pregnant but am not. But I do oblique stomach exercises to strengthen these muscles.

Sure, spot reduction is hard. But to strengthen the stomach muscles and therefore making it more "taut"... this helps.
So do overall exercising too... for overall weight reduction.

My nephew used to date a girl who was O. of 10 kids! Her mom was about as big as a minute and she swore by push ups as her post baby work out. (Gets your core and arms!)

If you don't need to lose weight, then specific muscle toning is possible. Shoot low and consistent. I'm working my tummy flab back into muscle by doing an exercise video off youtube once a day - it is called 8 minute abs. It is pretty intense, only hits the midsection and only takes 8 minutes. I can handle that after everyone is in bed even if I am tired. You might give it a try! I'd say that since your actual weight is healthy you are probably doing well with activity level and eating well already. Good luck!

I've been doing P90X, which is awesome but requires a significant amount of time. But one of the workouts is AbRipper, it's 16 min 3 times a week, and it is amazing! I noticed a huge difference even without changing my diet (which was predominantly junk food when I started). I think if you do it along with your normal workouts you will see a huge difference. P90X is kind of expensive, but you get AbRipper free if you order it and return it with the 30 day guarantee (although I encourage you to keep it and try it as much as you can, it is an awesome program!). Hope that helps, good luck!

Pilates is the best exercise to go long and lean and in my experience the easiest to form your tight core. To stay motivated before workouts drink a black coffee - no sugar no cream! or a preworkout drink (hydroxycut powder at GNC does a pretty good job but if you are prone to caffiene jitters you will not like it)
My second guess is that since you are experience bloating after meals, you have an abundance of yeast in your gut. They are hard to get rid of but when you do your stomach will go down alot. Search "removing yeast from your gut" on any search engine and that should get you started. The next thing I'd try if that doesn't work is seeing your doctor to check for hernias, they too can pop out after eating and some are large and not painful. Last I'd get allergy tested you may have food allergies you are unaware of. Good luck to you, hope my info helps. Blessings, Lilly

Obviously eating a low-fat diet will help and exercises that strengthen your core muscles will help-pilates, yoga. Also, you'll want to do cardio to help improve your metabolism and over all health.
