Nightlight - What Do You Reccommend?

Since moving my 21 month old to his big boy bed, I have been thinking of getting him a nightlight of some sort. Although he is used to sleeping in the (pitch) dark, his crib used to have a little attached toy that you could push a button for soft light and music. He would mostly do this early in the morning and it was soothing to him.

I'm thinking about a couple different options - a "huggable" nightlight - soft little animal cuddle toy that lights up if you squeeze it or something. Or possibly one turtle animals I have seen that shine stars on the ceiling for awhile at bedtime and then turn off (of course, this doesn't help him in the middle of night or morning.) Or perhaps the okay - to - wake type light that has a sleeping character during sleeping hours and lights up with an awake character when it's okay to get up (maybe this kills two birds with one stone.)

This is a pretty vague question, but does anyone have experience with these ideas or what do you do for your young one? My son is only 21 months old

What can I do next?

We love the Twilight Ladybug and Twilight Seaturtle at our house. They both cover the ceiling with stars!

http://www.cloudb.com has the animals you are referring to and they are awfully cute, but if he is ok with sleeping in the dark, I would let him continue. In the long run it is healthier in terms of adjustment, confidence, and even eye development.

My daughter (25 Months) uses the ladybug that shines stars on the wall and ceiling and she has been using it since she was 1 year old when she got it as a gift and she LOVES it. We keep her door closed until we are ready to go to bed and at that time we open her door up where there is a nightlight plugged in to the outlet in the hallway outside her door

We have 3 things my son likes. We do have the Twilight Turtle that you mention. My son LOVES it. We keep it right next to his bed, and if he wakes up he pushes the button to turn the stars on. He also has a glow worm that stays on his bed. (Admittedly, he doesn't use that one much.)In addition, we have a plug in night light from Target. That one stays on a shelf, and stays lit all night. It's shaped like a turtle, very cute, and gives light without giving too much.
