So What Happened?

Thanks for all of your great advice. I am on the lookout for the diaper doublers and will attempt going up a size at nap time and bed time. In the meantime, I have put her diapers on backwards so that the back receives the most protection.

We haven't had a leak since going to cloth. Even if you don't want to do them full-time, you can get a few for nights and use inserts to make them extra absorbent. Feel free to PM me if you want more info.

When this would start to happen with my son we would go up a size in his diapers, that seemed to help. It probably has something to do with being bigger and being able to hold more. Good Luck!

My son is 15 months and was sometimes having the same problem. His routine is to eat dinner at like 6 and then at like 7 he has a bottle before bed. I have noticed that if he whines for more and I give him more than the one bottle then he winds up wet in the morning so you might try to cut out the fluids so long before bedtime.

Hi L.- With my girls I put a medium weight panty liner (sticker on the top of the diaper) horizontally across and it solved the problem (I would guess it is cheaper than a baby specific product) worked really well

We use Diaper Doublers that we get at Dominicks. That is the only place I've seen them. They are usually on the top shelf near the newborn and preemie diapers, and they are store brand. We also use either Huggies Supreme or Pampers Cruisers at bedtime. We use Costco brand during the day.

The Goodnights brand works well for my son. I also put a leak pad down that I found on amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/Basic-Comfort-Handys-Plus-Pad/dp/B0...

This works great and you don't have to keep changing the sheets!

You can find the diaper doublers at Babies R US. I just bought some not to long ago for under $3 for 30.

It might be time to move up to the next size. That usually solves our diaper leaking problem. Also do you give her a bottle just before bed? That might also be the cause, try stopping the liquids about an hour before bed, if she's actually thirsty just let her take sips, don't give her a full cup. Good luck.

How about limiting what she drinks right before bedtime? This made a huge difference for us (and helped my son start sleeping through the night).

i USE HUGGIES NIGHT TIMES, AND HAVE NEVER HAD A LEAK. How much is your daughter drinking before bedtime, and/or abought 1 hour before bed? That could be the problem, to much to drink, too clode to bedtime!

I found that going to the next size diaper helps. Each size up will hold more liquid. Hope this helps.

I had this problem too for a while. At night I used one size higher in diapers than during the day. If she was in a size 3 normally, then I used a size 4 at night. It seemed to help. Good Luck.

They have the diaper doublers, the things like pads, at babies r us and I also know Dominicks carries a generic brand that works just as well.

We used them and they were great!

Those inserts are called Diaper Doublers and they are available at Jewel and Dominicks in the diaper section. Have you tried moving up a size in the Huggies overnights. I would definitely go up a size and see if that helps.

I know what your going through.I have a daughter that has Muscular Dystrophy.she also wets the bed but shes 8 years old.
She wears pull ups and I have pads that are called chucks. You can find them at Walmart,Walgreens, ask the employees they can probably show you the way.

You can get the "pad" incerts at Babies R Us. That's the only place I've ever seen them. Also try to avoid giving her anything to drink a couple of hours before bedtime and then change her or invite her to go potty (if you are trying to potty train her) just before bed time. Gerber also makes rubber pants (like they used to use over cloth diapers) you can put over the diaper to keep the leakage from getting all over the bed. I also found those at Babies R Us.
God Bless!!!

I will tell you a little trick I have learned and it may seem crazy. I know the pads you are talking about because we used to use them in the nursing home under incontinent patients, but a MUCH cheaper version of the same thing is to go to any grocery ,pet or dollar store (they have the cheapest ones) and get a package of what is called "puppy pads" They are the same exact thing as the ones they use for people and they are less expensive! Just take them out of the package and stack them in the closet and no one will ever know the difference! You just put it under her sheet or under her bottom and any leaks will be caught in the pad and not soak through to the sheets. :) The other suggestions are great too so try those on top of mine and you will be washing less sheets in no time. :)
Hope that helps and good luck!!

I definitely agree on going up a size at night in either the Huggies overnights or Pampers. We went up to Pampers size 6 when in size 3 or 4 during the day because the bigger sizes hold so much more for night. Now we are back to size 5 pampers at night for my almost 2 year old.
I've seen the diaper inserts at Jewel Osco in the baby section, but never tried them.
If she's having a bottle before bed, that's often a cause of leaky diapers, as it provides too much to drink right before bed. For several reasons, it would be good to wean her off the bottle if she has one right before bed still.
I have sippy cups of water with my boys in bed so they can sip that if truly thirsty, but not milk before bed as milk is more of a drink because it's good and "comfort food" whereas water is drinking for sincere thirst.
Otherwise, going up a size or 2 in diaper using Huggies Overnights or Pampers should surely do the trick.

Hi L.

Have you tried Luvs? They seem to work for my daughter.

Otherwise when i used to have this problem with my older son. I would have to get up in the middle of the night and change him. Even when he stopped waking up for a bottle.

Also, try good nite diapers

Good luck

My son leaks at night in Huggies and Luvs, but we haven't had any problems with Pampers.
