Newborn on the Way and Need a Good Pediatric Doctor

My son was born prematurely and was very sickly. Mease Countryside NICU misdiagnosed my son for a full month while he was there. All Children's Hospital diagnosed him within 48 hours. Unfortunately, they are short staffed at times, but there doctors are terrific! He had surgery at St Joe's in Tampa. I live in Hudson. My pediatrician is on SR 54 at North Pinellas Children's Medical. They have sick visits on weekends also which is when my son gets sick. My son's doctor is Dr Alvarez and Dr Mitchell. He has seen other ones on the weekends too, but they are all great! My son is not in daycare, but I hope you find something that helps. If you need more info, please contact me. Good luck!

As far as a pediatrician, we use an office in Carrollwood area, so that probably wouldn't be of much help for you. I can highly recommend Kids at the Point daycare in Hudson, located at Bayonet Point hospital. I am not sure what their rates are for non-hospital personnel, but I can tell you that they are wonderful. They keep their ratios lower than required by law, and the kids all seem to enjoy themselves. I can't imagine a better place, I was very nervous about sending my son (he didn't go until he was 16 months old), but he didn't skip a beat.

You probably will have more luck in terms of flexibility with a pediatrician near Westshore, since St Joesphs Childrens is close. There is no pediatric hospital in western Pasco, so there aren't as many options. Not that there wouldn't be good ones, just that you would have more of a selection in Tampa.

My daughter goes to Kids At The Point in Hudson as mentioned by previous poster. This place is awesome!!! I no the fees are $35.00 each day or $150.00 a week for non-hopital workers. Pediatrician that I use is on Tampa Rd./McMullen Booth Rd., in Palm Harbor. Dr. Neri (Palm Harbor Pediatrics And Internal Medicine Group) ###-###-#### is very gentle and caring, she specializes in pediatrics and internal medicine so that means the whole family can see her for a one stop health care, as you may know when kids get sick most of the time you as parents will get sick too and there is nothing easier then both or all of you getting health care at the same time, same place. There are also 2 other doctors (Dr. Goldstein & Dr. Gaffney) in the practice that are awesome too, as you can see I could go on and on about this group of doctors. My family and I live in Hudson so it is a little bit of a drive but never once has the doctors not taken us in at a last minute notice. This group of doctors is affiliated with Mease Countryside Hospital and they truly have the best Pediatric NICU in our area other then All Children's and maybe some hospitals in Tampa, I know this because my son was in the NICU for 10 days at birth, just a year ago. hi i have a good pediatrician and they are located in new port richey not sure where your at but they are very good!! they are called caring pediatrics on rowan rd. my dr.is dr. jara!!very great doc. my daughter loves her!!
