Hi ladies- We recently renovated our master bathroom and we have a porceline/travertine shower. I know that I can't just use any product off the shelf at the supermarket to clean the shower because of the travertine, but I'm not sure what to use. I have seen a few products online that are safe for travertine, but I don't know which are good or not. What products do you use on your travertine showers? Do you clean the tile and the shower doors with the same thing? Any help would be appreciated!

What can I do next?

Another step to do <a href="http://www.travertinepolishingplano.com/travertine-cleani... travertine shower </a> is clean spots and spills quickly with a quality neutral pH stone cleaner that do not damage the stone or cause it to resoil more quickly.

C., I use to work in a tile showroom and designed bathrooms all the time. My first question is, is it Porcelain or Traverting. Porcelain is man made, commercial grade, and very easy to care for, you have to worry about the grout more than the tile. You can use tile cleaners from the grocery store to clean them. Travertine on the other hand is a natural stone, it must be sealed, and in a shower area it is something you are going to want to do every year or so. You must use natural stone cleaners on it, the cleaners in the store many times will strip the sealer and water will begin to soak through to the back of the tile and you have a whole new problem. Go to any place that sells natural stones and they should have the cleaners there that you need. Home Depot sells "Tile Lab" product, they are good, Lowes sells some product also for natural stones. Any place that sells natural stone tiles should also sell the sealers and cleaners. Just make sure it says on the label that it is safe for natural stones. If it doesn't say that do not use it on travertine. You may also want to find out from your installer what products he used if he sealed it, if it was a water based product or oil based. I believe most are waterbased. I hope this helps. S.

I use vinegar and water on tiles or sometimes a weak solution of Mr. Clean if it's gotten away from me. I use regular cleaners for the doors. Good luck!
