New to San Ramon- Seeking Playgroups

We just moved to San Ramon 3 weeks ago. We love it here but are already getting a little stir crazy without having any friends nearby. I have a 4.5 year old son who will be starting kindergarten this fall and my daughter will be 2 soon. We are looking to meet other families with similar aged children at parks etc.
I've never joined a mother's club before, if anyone has feedback (positive or negative) about their experience I would appreciate it. Thank you!

What can I do next?

Depending on your location in San Ramon there is a MOMs club chapter in your area (I'm in the Danville/Alamo chapter next door). This group is specifically designed for stay at home moms and has lots of daytime activities, playgroups, etc... I have many friends who are also in the Iron Horse and enjoy it, but the main criticism is that it is so large so it CAN be difficult to make more personal connections. MOMs clubs are part of a larger international organization which mandates that chapters remain small (my chapter is on the "large" end at nearly 50 for example). I have been in mine for 2 years, held leadership office, and had a very positive experience. If you are more interested, I can find out who you should contact for the chapter covering your area.

Welcome to the Tri-Valley...it's a wonderful place to raise children!

I'm also in the MOMS Club and It has been a great way to connect with other moms and kids. Google MOMS Club and the international website should come up which would then direct you to the local San Ramon Website.

Hi!

First can I say that I absolutely feel your pain:)
We just moved to the area as well and I am also looking to reach out to other mothers.
My daughter is almost two and we love the park and other kid friendly places. We actually started going to a place called My Gym and it's been a life saver. The instructors are great and the other parents are super friendly.
If you would like to converse more just email me at ____@____.com

Hey A.,

I have an almost 4 year old son and an almost 2 year old son if you would like to meet up for a playgroup. I also belong to the Iron Horse Mothers club www.ironhorsemothersclub.com and absolutely love it. We have playgroups, moms night out, sub clubs ( I am the bunco chair), etc... Check it out. It also is a great resource if you have your own business. I am a photographer and it has really helped me get my name out there. You can email me at ____@____.com if you would like to get together. There is also the IHMC if you are facebook. You can look up my email address on FB as well. Thanks. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi A.,
I live just down the road in Pleasanton and my daughter just turned 2 on the 18th of June. We would love to meet up with you sometime. We have lived here a little over 2 years and still don't know many people. I am a stay at home mom as well.

Check out www.ironhorsemothersclub.com It's a very active group that will help set up a play group for you. They also have "sub-clubs" for specific interests: book club, knitting, wine tasting, etc.
