Hello. I am a brand new Mommy (baby born 23 Dec 2007) and am also new to Colorado Springs. My husband and I moved here in August from San Diego, CA after I ended a 14 year career in the Navy. I would love to meet other Mom's, join a group, and/or hopefully make some friends. I have read a few of the posts on here about this topic but am not sure how up to date everything is as the posts are over a year old. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Hello,
I also have been looking into a baby group. I have my first child which she is now 11 months old and I would like to start her in some groups. I am also new at the mommy thing so I am interested but not sure where to look. If you happen to find a group you like please let me know and I will do the same. Sorry I am not a huge help...

Look in to MOMS Club

www.momsclub.com

It is a support and activity group for stay at home moms and is based by the area you live in. The East chapter's site is www.momseast.com to get an idea of the club!

I was a leader at MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Falcon Baptist Church. Our leader moved so we had to shut down the group. We had 34 women and over 70 children. I am searching for a new MOPS group myself because it is so beneficial. We have qualified expert speakers come in and talk to the mothers while we have wonderful care takers for the children. In our group I made lifelong friends. You eat brunch together and have social time too. It is wonderful. My kids LOVED MOPS!
We moved here last year and two months later with a weeks notice my husband was sent to Iraq. I am prior enlisted myself so we are used to moving, but this one was the worst. I didn't know anyone! So when I found this MOPS groud I knew I found home. I talk to my friends from the group all the time and one lady I talk to every day! My youngest was just a baby at the time so it was great watching her grow up this last year making all of thses friends.
I hope you can find a great MOPS group near you. Good luck!!

congrats!!!!! We just moved here in June 2007 and everyone has been so friendly. We too moved from California and it's amazing how much friendlier and easier it is to meet ppl here than in CA!! I don't know about groups with infants but I do know that our local rec center (Woodmen Hills) has a lot of good groups, classes, and YMCA type activities to meet ppl. Good luck and enjoy that new baby of yours!!!!!!!!!!! I have 4 myself (8 mos, 2 1/2, 6, 9)

Hi H.: there is a MOPS group in Monument... i'm not sure what area of town you live in? You can google it... that may help find a group near you. Also, i have met other moms through my gym and i have even approached other moms at my local park. My daughter is now 3 and in pre-school.... so i am now meeting other moms through her school. My advice is: dont be shy! approach other moms, introduce yourself and your child, and make friends!
