New to Area - Gilbert,AZ

I have a new baby girl too and we love Mesa Pediatrics the San Tan office. We see Dr. DeMets and she so thorough! We also saw Chontal the physician's assistant when my daughter was a newborn and she caught things that the pediatricians missed at Scottsdale Shea where she was delivered.

I've been seeing Dr. Bader for a year now as my GP and I really like her too.

For vets, I go to Dr. Ford at the Animal wellness clinic on Higley and Pecos. The dr's there are great. My boxer recently had to have a tumor removed and they were so supportive through the whole thing. I couldn't have imagined being anywhere else. Now my boxer is doing great!!

Auto - I cannot recommend who to go to, but I would say be careful at Sun Devil Auto. I, and I have heard many others, have felt very taken advantage of there.

I dont have answers to all your questions..but pediatric dentist..Dr Ball he is on Guadalupe and Greenfield. ###-###-####. We have seeen him for over 9 years and both my kids are great about going to the dentist. I never hear oh gawd I hate the dentist. As for the OB ( I am currently 29 weeks pregnant) the office Valley women for women has been fantastic. I will never go see another OB ever. Dr Van Eken is my doc....and I only see her. She is warm and funny and makes you feel important. I have a great kids doc...but I drive all the way to paradise valley.....thats just how good they are.

If you live in the east valley, try East Valley Children's Center. Dr. David Curran is our kids doctor. He is very nice and easy to talk with and the kids really love him. All the doctors in the office are really good and I have not had a problem with any of them. At times, there might be a long wait, but on the norm, usually not more than 10-20 minutes. The office is located off of Southern & Loop 101 in Tempe. Hope this helps.

I love Mesa Pediatrics as well. I even went there as a kid, so they've been around a very long time. All the doctors are great, and I love the Physician's Assistant, Bill Gauze (@ Greenfield and Guadalupe). He's so sweet with the kids, and my daughter's opthamalogist even made it a point to tell me I was in good hands with him and all of Mesa Peds. I usually have to wait a few minutes, but I've never had a terribly long wait in all my years of going there.

I also live in Gibert, and I go to AZ Vista Family Medicine ###-###-#### at Greenfield/Guadalupe, and LOVE the doctors and PA there. In fact, we do not even have a pediatrician as both my kids (8 months/3.5 years) also go there, and my hubby, too. We have been going there for 4 years now and we really like the small office with the personal touch. ALthough there are exceptions, almost always they take their time with you and you don't feel like a number. I think once we had to wait a while and then the doctor was a bit distracted, but she had dealt with a terrible patient just before me, and we are all human. In addition, they educate you and do not overprescribe drugs, especially antibiotics. They can then refer you to the other specialists as they did me, all of whom I love! In fact, in my whole life I have never enjoyed going to the doctor, but I have not minded in years!

We love Mesa Pediatrics (Greenfield and Guadalupe). Like Melody, I went there as a child and now take my own kids. We really like Dr. Robin Laks. We love our dentist Dr. Scott LeSueur. Everyone there is great! He's at ValVista and Southern. Welcome to the area. You'll love Gilbert!

I take my kids to Desert Shores Pediatrics (the Gilbert office on Higley and Chandler Heights) - we've seen all the doctors there, I think, and have never had a bad experience. My favorites, though are Dr. Mohler and Dr. Mullen. The doctors are all women, and I believe most of them are mothers. The office staff is very nice as well. ###-###-####
Pediatric Dentist - Dr. Bashara at Sweet Tooth Pediatrics on Power just behind Gilbert Hospital. I can't recommend them enough. They were fabulous with my 2 year old. ###-###-####
Dr. Eric Huish is my OB - I got a recommendation here on Mamasource and have not been disappointed. He is awesome and has such great bedside manner (which was one of the problems I had with my past OB - super cold). ###-###-####

Try my dentist. It's called 1st Gentle Dentistry. A well designed family office with personalized, professional service. Dr.Caryn Lee and her team is so gentle and also very personable. Main thing I like about Dr.Lee is that she makes you feel very comfortable and also I could tell that she is very honest. The office is clean, and price was lower than I expected. I never waited more than 5 minutes for my appointments. www.1stgentle.com I think this is their website.

On Greenfield and Guadalupe Roads there is a medical plaza. Inside their is Mesa Pediatrics ( I really like Dr. Smith), Contemporary Care for Women ( I love Dr. Tamanaha) and a childrens dentist. I love the convenience with all the doctors in one place. I used contemporary care for all three of my pregnancies and was very pleased. My kids have gone to Mesa Peds and they have 4 different offices around the valley. Good luck (-:

I did the same thing a year ago to find my pediatrician, and was mostly referred to Mesa Pediatrics. I'm so glad I was, we see Dr.Z there and she's is amazing. I rarely have to wait at all and the office is super kid friendly. Thanks to them I've been able to get help for my oldest's asthma and when my 7 year old started having seizures a few months ago they helped us get into a ped neurologist right away. I highly recommend them.

For car repair and tires I recommend Advanced Auto, my husband works at the one on Lindsey and Main. I've sent several "mamas" to him because I know he'll be truthful and helpful. I worked in the automotive industry for years and if it weren't for my knowledge I would have been seriously taken advantage of. Ask for Steve and tell him you heard about him on Mamasource.

Welcome to AZ... Not sure how far you are willing to travel but here are a few suggestions:

Family - Mara with Oasis Family Med. ###-###-####) She is fantastic and we skipped a ped. with our kids, she has always cared for us. At one point when my son was younger someone told me I was silly and should take him to a pediatric dr. I did for about 6 months, they did not seem to check everything out. Also she LOVES the little one so she will spend a lot of time getting to know you.

OB - Hands down Dr. Julie Adams (I only have her cell phone number programmed, but she is in the phone book) with Valley Women for Women. You can read some of my responses for my reasons. But she is beyond fantastic.

Pediatric Dentist - Dr. Johnson with East Valley Pediatric Dentistry ###-###-####). His office does not take all ins. plans so make sure to ask if he is contracted with yours. He is not contracted with ours but we pay extra to see him.
