I recently located to this area too. I had the same question and one of the mom at a Gymboree class recommended a doctor at Johnson County OBGYN. I followed her recommendation and saw Dr. Lentell. She is very good but her schedule was very hectic so it was hard to be seen. I switched to another provider at the same clinic, Dr. Grounds. There are 10 (all female) OB GYN at this clinic and from what I've heard, they are all very good. You can check out their website at:

L. - I used Dr. Joseph Hume at KUmed West (75th and 435 in Shawnee) for my all of my OB visits (just had baby in July). He is at that clinic on Mondays, but you can see him at KU Medical Center (39th and Rainbow in KC, KS) any other day. I thought he was great. I've also seen Mary Duff at KU if you prefer a female and she was excellent as well. You can see either of them at the KUmed West clinic, but you would deliver at KU med center. Hope this helps.

My sister and I both go to Georgetown Health which is on 75th and Antioch. It's a small building around Shawnee Mission Medical Center. We both see Dr. Martin's there are two ladies with that name and they are both wonderful. Between my sister and I we have had three kids. The greatest thing about their location is that the biulding is directly across from my pediatrician's office and attached to Shawnee Mission Medical Center where we gave birth.

I loved my experience at Johnson County OBGYN.
