Nevermind! I'm So Sorry!

Ugh... I have to edit my post now. First of all, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all the responses to my request. Unfortunately, I put this up prematurely. My husband and I were up for hours last night discussing what to do. He is completely against finding the puppy another home. He thinks things will get easier in time, and I have to agree with him. My daughter is already attached, and I admit, so am I, but wanted to consider my other dog and everything else that comes along with having a puppy. So... the decision is that we are going to keep him! Again, thank you all for your responses, and I am truly sorry if I got any hopes up.

Hi A.,

We have been looking for a "doodle" as my family's been very ready to get a dog, but my son has allergies! I would love to see him if you haven't yet found a home. I have 2 kids, almost 9 and 4 who are amazingly gentle with animals. My 4 year old would rather spend time with dogs than humans! :) You can contact me at ____@____.com. Thanks!

I am so happy that you are going to keep your pup and try to work things out!
Just wanted to add some thoughts - for anyone looking for a companion animal - check out rescues (these are breed or species specific all volunteer organizations) - they don't have a physical location like an animal shelter, they use a network of foster homes. If you must have a puppy from a breeder - make sure you go to a REPUTABLE breeder. Do your homework first. Rescues and reputable breeders have contracts that require you to return pets to them if you cannot keep them - this means that if you ever have to give up your pet - they have a place to go, and do not end up dead (or worse - such as bait for dog fights or sold to medical research). The Chicago shelter takes in over 150 animals every single day - most of which are put to death for lack of good homes. Rescues do get some wonderful dogs into their programs - some folks think that pets that go to rescue are somehow inferior - which is not the case. Many, like this pup at first, are given up because of a situation they have no control over (don't get along with existing pet, allergies, moving, divorce) and are perfectly wonderful companions.
So - for anyone seeking a furry companion....please check shelters, rescue organizations (there is one for every breed!)or go to a REPUTABLE breeder.

Best of luck with the pup - again, glad you are keeping him and working things out!

Sincerely,
Victoria Meluso

A., I would be very interested in your puppy. Our beautiful Wheaton Terrior of 14 years passed away 1 year ago and we have just said its time for another dog! We wanted to wait a year for grieving etc. etc. Our kids are 12, 15, and 17. They miss our dog terribily. and now that summer is coming they really miss him. He would always attend their baseball games, walk every morning to starbucks with my husband and I etc. We are so lonely on our walks! We live in Buffalo Grove which is not very far from you. Hi A.,

That is the exact dog we are interested in getting. I have had dogs my whole life up until now. We now have a great house with a huge fenced in yard. What more can a dog ask for =). I have a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. Is he neutered? Housebroken? We have a huge laundry room for him if he isn't and can't be left alone quite yet. How much are you charging for him? I look forward to hearing back from you. I notice you have a lot of other perspective people..but would love to hear back from you. Even if I am too late.. still would like to know it went to a good loving home. Getting rid of dogs is a very sad and hard thing to do. Hope it is a smooth transition for you and your family.

hi-
i am a teacher in a school of 255 other teachers. i have worked for a rescue group fostering and have placed MANY dogs with my co-workers. If you would like, i can put a posting up at my school... there is always a responsible indiv. looking for a dog. the best part, is that i can saty in touch with the teacher family who take any of the dogs and make sure its a good fit. i also know all of the teachers and know what type of home it is.... the dog wouldnt just be going to any tom, d*** or harry! let me know--- i am a dog lover... have 4 dogs of my own....
are you giving him/her away, or looking to sell?

We are looking for a dog that is good for someone with allergies. Let me know because we would be very interested in giving him a loving home. We have a 3 year old boy who asks for a doggy everyday.
