Need Tooth Fairy Gift Ideas!

Just weeks ago, my six-year-old daughter lost her seventh tooth- and the tooth fairy brought her seven golden dollars and a letter from the tooth fairy. Next Friday, she is having three of her baby teeth pulled at once- and I'm at a loss for what the tooth fairy should bring! She says "If the tooth fairy brought me seven golden coins for one tooth, then maybe she will bring me seven golden coins for EACH tooth! That's twenty-one golden coins!" UH OH! I may have shot myself in the foot with seven golden dollars.... What should I do to make it special for her? She has to undergo anaesthesia, and getting teeth pulled is traumatic for people of ANY age, let alone a six-year-old, so she deserves for it to be special.

Thanks for your ideas, Moms!

This may not work for you, but my favorite tooth fairy idea is to gie a charm bracelet for the first tooth and then a charm for each subsequent tooth.

I would give her the 21 gold coins. She's going through a LOT and really $21 isn't that much in the long run. I mean Build-A-Bear is going to cost you more than that with the cost of the animal and all the things that go with it and does the tooth fairy really do retail? :-P

Maybe the Tooth Fairy can leave her Build A Bear Bucks? That would be a special treat for having 3 teeth pulled. I agree that perhaps you shot yourself in the foot with the 7 golden coins. :)

Stick to the gold coins....

I gave my son $5 and he was disappointed. I was like, "what?" My husband asked me what in the world I was thinking. He wants gold coins (which are plastic to earn time at Disneyland). OMG. So, I told him to go back and check to make sure TF didn't leave anything else. He found 5 gold coins and danced around the house all day about the coins. Who knew? Give her what her expectations are.

i bought my kids a new toothbrush.. kind of boring.. but also added a great book on fairies and a few dollars... the book was about the tooth fairy... it was a hit.. so then each tooth that was lost.. i would find a special book to include...

Since she is going for surgery I would give her something small before the surgery, like a stuffed toy or a doll but before the surgery have her decorate a shoe box and you can help her with this. Get stickers and glitter and all the things that little girls like. Tell her that after her teeth are removed she needs to leave it in the box and then leave the box outside your front door before bed time or even in postbox for the tooth fairy to collect and when she does she will leave a surprise for your little girl. She can then go look for the box wherever you left it the next morning. You can put anything in it, maybe put a few gold coins, a book, toy, hair accessories, anything that she will be interested in and excited about.

This idea can be used to help wean kids off bottles, pacifiers, etc.

Good luck!

My 8 YO had to have 3 baby teeth surgically removed last year. The surgeon told her that the tooth fairy brought presents for teeth pulled. The tooth fairy left a a Barbie movie with the matching Barbie and new pjs.

I went through it more than once when I was a kid and the first time when I was younger and still believed in the tooth fairy I got a Barbie Pretty in Pink Barbie to be exact. LOL So maybe a special toy or something like that would work. I know it's not a fun experience.
