Need to Find Toy Lizards for Special Needs Son!!!!

Wal Mart in the HEB area used to carry party favors called "stretchy creatures"....they came in an eight pack for about 1.97. You could choose from frogs, lizards, centipedes and snakes. They also were glow in the dark. About two years ago, Wal Mart changed manufacturers and they do NOT carry these favors anymore.

My son has Down Syndrome and carries one of these lizards everywhere he goes. Luckily when I find something he likes, I buy it in bulk, however, between school and daycare, his supply is dwindling down! I have searched everywhere! Michael's has them but they were hard plastic. Target has them but NOT in glow in the dark.

Have looked on the internet and no one seems to have what I need. Any suggestions?????

What can I do next?

Try Party City. They have all kinds of party favor type stuff like this. Also - try calling around to toy stores. Maybe not Toys R Us but the little individual stores.

I went to a DI (Deseret Industries) in Sacramento last weekend and they had three bags of dinosaurs for $5 to $6 each. You never know where you will find them. They weren't in the toly section. They were in a glass cabinet with other "collectables".

Salvation Army and Goodwill are also good places to look. I would go back to the donation area and tell the manager what you are looking for and give them your phone number.

Good luck to you and yours.

Try US Toy. They have one in Plano, but you can also order on line. Looks like they have lots of dinosaur things. Hopefully one will work!

I got similar lizards and frogs from Party City USA for my son's birthday, but they didn't glow in the dark. I may be getting the store name slightly wrong -- it's sort of a dark warehouse-looking store with all kinds of cheap party favors. They usually have them in strip-mall shopping centers.

Good luck! That's sweet that your son takes a stretchy lizard everywhere he goes.

I believe that The Rainforest Cafe carries these critters at Grapevine. You might call and check!

Try looking at either Dollar Tree, or .99 only stores, or even Family Dollar, as I have seen them at those stores.

I suggest looking at Rhode Island Novelties (on line). Good luck!

Doesn't look like glow-in-the dark ones are available here right now, but their stock changes. You could also check American Science and Surplus.
