My son plays college football and wears half finger gloves which leave quite an odor in the palm of his hands due to perspiration. It takes several hand washings and hours for the odor to dissipate. When he played high school ball I would frequently handwash the gloves however this is not an option as equipment stays in the team locker room. I'm looking for suggestions to quickly remove the odor that remains on his hands. Thanks!!
Try putting baking soda in the gloves. and soak hands in a half of a capful of bleach with 2 cups of water or more soak a few min. will also clean nails to.

I would suggest making a paste of baking soda and letting it dry on his hands for a 10 minutes or so. Try putting odor eater things for shoes in the gloves when he takes them off.

have him sprinkle baking soda in the gloves before each use. It will help with the smell (kind of the same concept with putting the box in the fridge...it absorbs odors)
OUST works too but its only temporary.
K., try a combination of baking soda & boarax. Have him rub a little in his hands, wash them throughly. Both baking soda & boarax will reduce or even remove some odors. He may have a fungus on his hands similar to athlete's foot. Has he seen a doctor about it? Good luck.
I'm not sure if you are asking about removing the odor from his gloves or his palms or both, but for his hands, I would try lemon juice or vinegar and then regular soap. Also, anything with tea tree oil.
For the gloves, I would try vinegar.
My husband has a similar problem with cycling gloves. If it is possible, have more than one pair, and rotate them. (One is at home being cleaned and one is clean waiting for him in the locker room). Liberally powdering the inside of the gloves and the hands with talc helps too. I have also heard of rinsing the hands with Listerine. It kills the bacteria that causes odor.

you can buy something shaped like a bar of soap - made especially for that - or just rub them on a stainless steel sink! We have both!

If the sweat smell is still there even after several hand washings I would say your son's diet needs to be looked at, when we sweat like that we release (Sweat Out ) the toxins in our systems. Additives, preservatives, food colorings , chemicals etc. they ALL stink when our bodies get rid of them. Good Luck

Has he tried Fabreeze? I love that stuff, he can keep it in the locker room and spray his things after he uses them. Placeing baking soda on his hands before he puts them on should also help.

Have you tried rubbing alcohol? My feet constantly sweat because of genetics and I treat all my sandals and my feet with rubbing alcohol every time I use my sandals to help with the odor.
The hard bar soap item someone mentioned is what we in the culinary field call the steel soap. It is used to help get the very strong odors of onion and garlic off of your hands. The item can be found in most specialty cooking shops. Also, might try looking at a Bed Bath and Beyond.
If you find that he might misplace it too often, the same affect can be achieved by rubbing your hands on any stainless steel, the railing of a stair well at his school maybe.
Sol U Mel from Melaleuca will work wonders. Melaleuca is a Green company so the products will not hurt his hands.

Has he tried regular deoderant? How about a quick rinse in baking soda?
I have heard that there is something "hard" and not chemical that removes the odor of onions from the hands. Mentioning it so it might trigger someone else's memory. It was as simple as rubbing your hand on something hard that is at hand. Maybe the faucet? Anyone remember?
I've heard the best thing for stinky, sweaty feet is soaking them in black tea. He could try a 5-minute hand bath in strong dark tea.

1 quart 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup Baking Soda
2 tbsp Dawn Dish Detergent
I would try lemons or lemon juice. Also, I would try rubbing his hands on steel. After you cut an onion you can rub your hands on steel and the scent is gone, I would think it would work with this also.

I dont know if this will work or not but try making a paste with baking soda and water with some dish soap. I put B soda in all my loads of towels and it makes them smell "fresher" then with just soap alone. Besides it neutralizes odors in the fridge so it cant hurt to at least try
