I know many of you have scoured the stores. I haven't really made it out yet. I need to buy my 4 yr old girl an 18in bike. I want to spend as close to $50 as possible. Has anyone come across a deal like that? Last yr they were $29 at Academy, but no such luck this yr.

Also, I need a hand held electronic for my 5 yr old boy and 4 yr old girl. They argue over whose turn it is to play on the computer and drive me crazy! I dont want to have to buy cartridges. I want it to come with games and be able to download more online. I wanted the leappad, but theyre sold out and I need two, so $200 is kinda steep. I'm hoping to get them something under $50 Have you seen any self contained hand held electronic that has games, maybe a camera or play music, super easy to use, and an be connected to the internet to get more content?

What can I do next?

The only one's I've seen are no more than $79. I saw a Leapster on sale at Target not too long ago...the older version for that much (or maybe $89) but nothing less than $50.

Not sure if this will help but I have a few "plug and play" video games, where you plug in a video/audio connection to the v/a jack on your TV, which is connected to a joystick, turn it on and voila - you can play video games instantly. We have a PacMan throw back game, w/9 other games from that era, and an Atari throw back game w/10 games on it like Pong, Centipede, etc. I think I got both for $20 each! You can't play on the computer but you can still play on your TV w/o a video system attached.

Walmart has them but they are outside in the lawn and garden area.
If they don't have the one you want, there are more in storage.

I just got my 4-year old a 16" bike (no baskets or streamers, though) at Walmart for $35, their "Next" brand. You should try looking at Walmart.com for a bike you like, then you can check and see if it's available at your local store, so you don't have to go to a bunch trying to find it. Good luck!
