My niece has joined DECA with school and is going on several out of state invitational activities. Thus she is need of some financial assistance. Since she is only 15, she is too young for a job. Does anyone have good recommendations ofr raising money?

What can I do next?

When I was paying my way to conventions as a youngester -- mostly field trips for journalism and such, I had a neighbor who wanted her windows cleaned, her silver cleaned, weeds pulled, ect... I also babysat, washed cars for the neighborhood, and offered myself as a mother's helper to the moms around. I also dusted, cleaned houses, anything that would make money -- then I gave 80% to the savings account and kept 20% to have immediate gratification of my hard work - which kept me working :)
Good luck!

Why is she too young for a job? I mean babysitting, pet sitting in the neighborhood can bring in big money.
Also just sending out a universal email to family and close friends explaining she would like sponsership in order to go to these activities.
Car washes, bake sales are always a plus but take organization in a bigger scale and can be a lot to manage.
I say she isn't too young to do things around the house even maybe step up chores for more allowance?

Do a Taco in a bag sale or a pancake breakfast. Or if your niece is into sports do like a basketball tournament with inexpensive trophys and prizes then at the same time sell concessions. Well just some suggestions hope they help.

My niece wrapped Christmas gifts in the neighborhood for extra money. Raking leaves, spaghetti dinners, babysitting and house sitting. I think in Colorado you can work when you are 15. You just need parental permission and the employer has very strict rules on when you can be working.
