I am moving to Hatfield, PA next month and am pregnant and due in July. I need to find a new OB/GYN and a hospital to deliver at. It is important to me that there is a NICU at that hospital. Could you recommend an OB/GYN and/or hospital that you used that you thought was great? I'd really appreciate it!

What can I do next?

Hi S.!

I grew up in Hatfield, where my parents still live, and now live in Limerick in Montgomery County. I had my first child in NJ, but if I had been in the area, I would have delivered at Abington Hospital. They have a Level III NICU and their facilities are top-notch. My OB/GYN group is Abington Women's Primary Healthcare Group, who have offices in Willow Grove, Abington, Newtown and Flourtown. I see Dr. Bartlett there, but have many relatives and friends who see the other physicians there and have nothing but raves about them. Abington may be a little farther for you to go from Hatfield, but the care is fantastic and they do have the highest-level NICU available. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions, and good luck!

Abington, had my last 2 there and loved it. I used Womens Healthcare Group for all 3 of mine, Dr. O'Malley is my favorite they have like 5 offices one being at Abington. But you are closer to Grandview...so that's a big consideration, but i don't know much about that hospital. Abington is rated the top hospital in this and surrounding areas.

I delivered both my kids at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville (about 15 minutes or so from Hatfield). My OB/GYN group is Stoneridge OB/GYN, also in Sellersville, who I strongly recommend. All the doctors there are great. For both my deliveries, I felt safe, comfortable, and very well cared for. Grand View does not have a NICU, but they are affilliated with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and have CHOP pediatricians on staff 24 hours/day and offer an immediate connection to the NICU if need be. Good luck!

I had a little boy in July and in Lansdale on Broad St. is The Center For Womens Health. All the doctors there really good. Dr. DeBrakeleer is who delivered my son and was very nice. I delivered at Central Montgomery Medical Center. The nurses were so nice. The one nurse actually called after she went home to see if i had my son yet. one of my friends who delivered her children at abington said that she had never seen maternity nurses that were so nice. I would highly recommend Center for Women's Health and Central Montgomery Medical Center.

I second the recommendation for Abington Hospital. It's a bit further, but they have the best suburban maternal and fetal health facilities around. You won't find better outside of Philadelphia city limits. Abington is also affiliated with CHoP. If a NICU is important, than Abington Memorial is probably where you want to go. I also see the physicians at Abington Women's, and would recommend them.
