Super baby Food is a great book. You can also check out this website.
www.baby-cubes.com
They make all natural organic baby food and deliver to your door. A friend of my moms recently started this business and sent me 4 sample bags. They are great especially if you don't have a lot of time to make your own food.

Sounds like she may be in the single ingredient age range. When my kids were babies, ions ago, I would try out a single ingredient mixed with breast milk for 5 days. We used vegetables, and fruits and baby cereals.

I would make a batch and put it in one of those Tupperware Ice Cube trays with a cover/lid. Then I would put them in the fridge. They also have a great homemade baby food storage system in this great catalog we get called One Step Ahead (www.onestepahead.com). They have a lot of neat baby stuff.

We would just put the single ingredient into the food processor with breast milk. Good luck!

This book is an excellent resource for infant and toddler foods- when/how to introduce new foods while watching for food allergy reactions, recipes, how to store (fridge & freeze) homemade food, how to keep your little one from becoming a picky eater, etc. I learned early on from this book to give my kids a WIDE range of foods (that you normally wouldn't expect that an infant/toddler would eat) and now I am so proud that my 3 yr old twins will try just about everything (except tomatoes).

One of my favorite things to make in the food processor was a "superfood": chop up a piece of whole wheat bread, add peanut butter, yogurt, fruit and a little bit of flax seed oil.

I don't know what point your a at in solid feeding...single fruits and veggies or meats. I checked out baby food recipe website but never used the recipes. I steamed single fruits and veggies and used the $10 food processor i bought at Walmart and then stored the blended up food in ice trays until frozen and then transfered them to plastic freezer bags. Usually with dinners i would just blend up the veggies i cooked and he ate that fresh. By probably about 7-8 months i just blended in the food processor whatever we had for dinner and added water for consistancy, he done very well with this.

I agree that the "Super Baby Food" book is a great resource of what to feed your baby and when. The ice cube tray works great to freeze. It does all depend on what you want to feed your baby. Get this book becuase it is a great resource. I hope this helps.

I used the book "Super Baby Food" as my guide on when to start which fruits and veggies and meats etc. I used my blender to blend steamed/cooked food (single ingredients) and then froze them in ice cube trays, eventually transferring to a zip lock freezer bag. "Super Baby Food" will even tell you how long you can keep these frozen, (months or weeks) it varies on the type of food. Then I would use 1-6 cubes (1-6 ounces) of food at each feeding from 6-12 months old. I never purchased store bought baby food and I never bought a "food processor". Any regular blender will work. If it gets stuck, add more water. I highly recommend the book.
