I've got a freezer full of deer meat, but have no idea what to do with it. Any easy, cheap recipes would be of greatest appreciation!!!!

What can I do next?

Lucky YOU!!! I am jealous! LOL! I love Deer Quesadillas. I soak my meat in Dale's Seasoning (this is a liquid marinade.) and then throw them on the grill. Pick up some tortillas and cheese. Chop up the meat, place them on a tortilla, cover with cheese, and bake until cheese has melted. OMG this is really yummy!!!!

Enjoy the deer!!

if you also have steaks - sear on either side for about 2 - 3 minutes. let "rest" for about 5 minutes. take a whole container of blackberries and cook them down and add sugar till a sweetness you like. slice the steak into strips (slice against the grain) then top with the sauce. I like to pair asperagus with this. It goes wonderfully. The sauce can be made ahead of time and also used on pancakes - it's really nummy. I am a great cook, so if you need other recipes - totally let me know. Take care

If it is ground you can use it just like hamburger meat in pretty much any recipe. If it is in steaks I love to just soak it in buttermilk a few hours and fry it like chicken fried steak. You may even have sausage and that is good just by itself. Let me know how your meat was processed and I may be able to give you more specific recipes. I agree with everything everyone has said- you can use it in place of beef for everything! I have also made stir fry with it (a little soy sauce, frozen vegies, served on rice- yummy and healthy). You can also cut it into small strips, lightly flour it and fry it.

If you come up with something really good, list it for the rest of us. As of next week, I'll have a freezer full too!

Use it in replace of beef. We make everything out of venison. From hamburger helper to roast, Venison ham is a staple at the holidays. As you can tell we have lots of hunters in our family. My favorite is the sausage. It has more flavor. I add that to my Italian receipes, use it as breakfast sauasage and even use it as hamburger meat.

Good luck and happy eating :)

My dad cooks with Venison all of the time. He makes stew, chili, and sloppy joe with some of it. I will check with him on other things he makes and see iif I can get some other ideas and recipes for you.

Jerky Jerky Jerky

All you do is cut it and add a couple of your spies and stick it on the dehidrater over night.

Also when you want to marinade it use beer. I know it sounds wierd but I promise you, you will not be able to taste. It helps to tenderize it. Also takes off some of the gamey taste some deer have (depending on where the deer came from.)

If you want to know any of the spices let me know my husband and my dad have a great slection of spiecs that they would love to recemend.

P.S. I may not be able to answer right away as we are on the road as we speak moving to Utah and theonly time I can check my e-mail is when we stay the night

GOOD EATS to you and your family eating your deer meat.

How very lucky you are!! The men in my family always hunted when I was growing up so venison was a staple for us. You can make it anyway you like....the secret is to cook it slow and long.......I have made roasts, stew, stroganof, steaks....it is a wonderful meat (oh, and make sure it is cleaned properly).....I will be happy to help further if you tell me what cuts you have and what you would like to make.......I love venision and which I still had a source!
