Need Quick and Flavorful Steak Rub or Marinade Recipe

My husband likes to cook steak a lot. He doesn't like to put anything on it, no spices, rubs, marinades ~ so he'll buy some steaks on the way home from work and want to cook them that night. I like a flavorful steak with spices, rubs, marinades, etc but haven't really come across anything I really love that I can do at home in such a short time. I've looked on recipe sites but many of those recipes require marinating overnight or for at least an hour or so. I want something that I can do with only 10-15 minutes of prep time.
Any ideas??
Thanks!
D.

Montreal Steak Seasoning by McCormick at the grocery store- I use the low sodium version and put it on steaks, chicken and pork chops.

Hi D.,
This is one of my most favorite homemade "marinades" and I always receive many, many compliments. I use teriyaki sauce, Mrs. Dash (original), and Lawry's Garlic salt. I just put the steaks in a bowl/pan, cover them in teriyaki sauce, then put lots of Mrs. Dash and Garlic salt on them. I let them soak for a few minutes on each side. I also poke holes in the steak with a fork to let it soak in a bit and that is all.
Not great for anyone watching their sodium, but it sure is yummy.
Good luck,
R. B.

Instant Marinater with Pump by Vacu Vin
www.shop.com/+-a-pump+meat+marinator-p49731149-g1-k36-st....

I have one similar to this. I couldn't find the exact one, mine is several years old. It is awesome...you put your marinade in with your meat and pump.
The Instant Marinater is a unique dish that marinates and tenderizes meat, fish, chicken and vegetables in just minutes. It works by creating a vacuum which opens up the pores and fibers of the meat allowing for a deep and instant marinate in minutes rather than hours 'locking-in' flavor! This process also tenderizes the food and keeps it juicy. Marinating foods adds delicious flavors and protects them from the heat of the barbecue, grill, oven or pan. This dish is great for unexpected guests and can also be used for vacuum storage. It is dishwasher, freezer and refrigerator safe.

My mom used to marinate steaks in Wishbone Italian Dressing...at least an hour or 2 before grilling. Now that's what I do and it still tastes great and tenderizes it a bit.

I sell Wildtree -- all natural herbs, spices, and culinary blends. It's all quick and easy...and delicious!!! There are no preservatives, no MSG, no additives, and is low in sodium. They have a Rancher's Steak Rub that is soooo good! There area few ways you can use, including just rubbing it on and throwing it on the grill! Call or email me if you're interested.

We purchase ALL of our steaks, red meat products, hand made sausages, pork and chicken from Hirsch's Meat Market in Plano (NW corner of Alma/Parker). We have done business with Gary and Nancy since they started their business years ago.

You do pay more but you get QUALITY. You can get a Del Frisco/III Forks/Sullivans/Ruth's Chris steak there. He buys from the same companies. I would say a steak on average is about $10+ but FAR WORTH IT.

We do not season our steaks before grilling. After grilling, we put a little freshly minced garlic and hot butter on them. You pay $30+ at restaurants for the same quality steak.

Good luck!

Well, this isn't really a recipe, but one of the best steak rubs is a product you can buy at the store called "Grub Rub". I've used it on all cuts of steak and we love it. I especially like it because it makes a cheap sirloin taste like a MUCH more expensive cut of meat in my opinion. It's kinda pricey but well worth it to us. You can't get Grub Rub everywhere, but I think I have gotten it from Tom Thumb and Market Street before. Not sure about Kroger or Albertsons. I sprinkle it on one side of the steak, mush it into the meat a little with the back of a big spoon, turn it over and do the same to the other side, let the meat sit for 15 to 20 minutes at room temp and then grill. If I have the time, I'll put the meat in a zip lock and let it sit in the fridge for while longer, but it's not necessary.

Bon appetit!

Montreal is good.
I also have found these Weber Grill marinates . I love the black peppercorn one. You can marinate 15 minutes or over night.
I also like Stubbs marinades (beef) . Comes in a bottle .

I know this sounds easy but tenderize the steak by pounding it on both sides. Then sprinkle with salt and pepper and let it marinade in Italian dressing for at least 3 hours. Sear on each side and cook to your liking. I hope this helps.

We do our steaks for at least an hour (I know, not exactly what you asked for) in Dale's sauce (located where the A-1 and BBQ sauces are) and fresh lemon juice. Makes very yummy steaks! (and chicken or pork, too)

Try Allegro Marinade. You can get it at Sam's or Walmart. The bottle says to leave on an hour or over night but I usually do 15 to 20 min. When doing a roast, I let it cook in it.

Also, Montreal Steak seasoning is good too!
