I am looking for a new pediatrician or family practive doctor. I have a 19 month old right now and another baby due in January. I feel like our pediatrician is too busy to take the time to thoroughly examine or even talk to us when we come in and I also feel like they discount everything I say when I bring him in aside from his check ups and then it is the same stuff every time. So I am looking for recommendations for either pediatricians or family practice physcians in the Independece, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs area.

Thanks for your help!

Dr. Yanette at Raintree Peds is the best. I've recommended him to several moms and all of them love him.

I found Eillene, a nurse practioner, at Lee Summit Pediatrics. She has taken amazing care of my son and even found his heart defect when many doctors didn't. I wouldn't take him to see anyone else. She always takes time to answer questions and make sure I completely understand what's going on. Their number is ###-###-####. Hope this helps!

Hi! I too am running into that problem with our pediatrician. I am wondering if you go to the same office... We are currently going to Lee's Summit Physicians Group. They are OVER BOOKED and you will not get the care that I think you are hoping for. They do have two offices and the new one, called Raintree Pediatrics that is in Greenwood/Lee's Summit. The Dr's in that office seem to have a little more time on their hands to really talk with you about what is going on. I do not recommend the Lee's Summit office. Dr Yanetti (I saw someone else recommend him) at Raintree Pediatrics was great when we had to go to that office, but it is probably only a matter of time before that office is over booked as well. I will definately come back to see what everyone has recommended for you! Good luck!!

If you don't mind driving to liberty, Dr. Steven Carder is wonderful. He has been our whole family's doctor since he delivered my daughter 13 years ago. He has his own office and his mom and his wife both work there and they are all wonderful. ###-###-####. also, I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room.

You have gotten several reccomendations, I just wanted to second all the recommendations for Raintree Pediatrics and Lee's SUmmit Physicians group. These are both part of the same practice. Raintree is a smaller office with only 2 docs and my daughters see Dr. Yanette. I LOVE HIM. The used to see Dr. Sauer at the main office (LS physicians group). I really liked her as well.

ONe thing I love about this office it their urgent care hours. 8-11am mon-fri, 4-7 pm Mon- Thur, 9-11am Sat, 1-4pm Sunday. This is at the main office. Raintree has urgent care from 8-11am mon-fri.

I take my daughter to Cockerell & McIntosh Pediatrics in Blue Springs and their urgent care location in Independence. Her primary doctor is Dr. Joseph Vanbieber but I have also been taking her to Dr. Kriby-Diaz and I love them both. They take time with my daughter and answer all of my questions. I have seen a few more drs. but can't remember their names and they have been fine as well. It is a big practice so you are more than likely to see a dr. the same day you call. The BS phone number is ###-###-#### and the Independence phone number is ###-###-####. Hope this helps.

I had the same issues with past pediatricians, fortunately I contacted parents as teachers coordinator for my area and she recommended my son's pediatrician. The first time I called him, he personally called me back and gave me his pager number !! Hes great ! Id recommend to contact parents as teachers at your current facility or the local organization, they should be able to recommend great PEDS.

We see dr. MacEntire of Preferred Pediatrics in Lee's Summit. He's awesome, and they have urgent care hours with a nurse practitioner or whatever dr. is on call (I think there are 3 in the practice) so if your kid gets sick randomly you can bring them in to get seen that day, which I find to be very nice. Good luck!

Yes, I agree, Pediatric Associates. I go to the Plaza office, but they have one in Lee's Summit. Best of all, they are available before work & after work and on weekends for appointments. We have been very happy with their service and their response to our needs. I also like the fact that they are always ready when it is my appointment time...no waiting for hours with a little one in tow.

I go to Northland Family Care which is in Liberty and I love the doctors and the nurse practitioner. My son and I see Dr. Melinda Roney and I really like her. I recently moved to Blue Springs but continue to drive there. Melinda only works a few days a week so I have to see other doctors there but I haven't had problems with any of them.

Hi K.. I am not sure where you currently go- but i go to Pediatric Associates in Lee's Summit. They also have an office on the plaza but i always go to the one in LS. I love their office. Their nurses there are fantastic and aways call me back almost immediatly if i ever have an issue. They are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 9pm at the plaza office so if something ever pops up on the weekend (which it almost always does) you can always get in. You have to drive to the plaza but i never mind- at least i can my child seen without having to go to urgent care. I have seen several of the doctors in the practice and i have liked all of them- Dr. Moylan, Dr. Willams, Dr. Kasper......so you might give them a try. Their # is ###-###-####. Good luck!

I take my kids to Cockerell and McIntosh pediatrics. They have offices in Blue Springs and Independence. The BS office has a great waiting area (I haven't visited the Independence office) and it seems pretty easy to get an appointment quickly after your initial new patient visit. I like Dr. Mozer there, but have also heard that Dr. Kirby-Diaz is really good. For your new little one, they do newborn care at Centerpoint and at St. Mary's in Blue Springs.

I take my son to Raintree pediatrics, located in Lee's Summit (150 and Ward). Not sure if that is too far south for you, but we love the practice. Have seen both doctors there and so far they have been great.

I used to take my son to Cockrell Macintosh and Associates. Ask for Joseph VanBibber. He is a sweet doctor and took the time to answer any questions I had about my child when he was sick or anything I had a question about and Dr. Moser and Dr. Cockrell was really nice as well and he's also known as Dr. Charley. Try them, I was sad to have to stop using them since my son's insurance isn't on the list of doctors to see. They are located in Blue Springs next to the St. Mary's Hospital and they also have a location in Independence on Winner Rd. The number is in the phone book.

Hope this helps,
S.
