I have a two month old daughter, so needless to say I have been couped up in the house for two months. I am new to the area and am trying to come up with places to go that will be friendly environments for her, as well as relaxing or entertaining for me. Trying not to spend too much, but I am willing to consider all options in the League City/Webster/Clear Lake area.
Have you thought of loading your daughter & stroller up and heading to the Kemah boardwalk? Yes, the restaurants can be pricy, but nothing's to stop you from sitting outside, enjoying the scenary and eating a sandwich from home! It's nice in the early afternoon and you can get some really neat pictures.
I recently moved to Dickinson from Clear Lake Shores. My daughter is one now, but over this past year I have found that just taking a trip to Target or Wal-Mart can be a little refreshing. Many a day I have gone to Wal-Mart, strolled around and didnt buy a thing. Also, Baybrook Mall. I dont particularly care for the mall, but once again, you can just stroll around and not have to buy anything. Its always fun just to window shop. I know how you feel. Gettin' a little stir-crazy!!?!! Now that the weather is nice, I just recently started strolling around the neighborhood. Gotta get the walks in now before it gets to be 100 degrees out!!

Check out the baby storytime at your local library. It is a lot of fun and all their programs are free. We go to Helen Hall library (http://www.leaguecitylibrary.org/), but all area libraries have similar programs.
Also checkout local playgroups. There is more than one chapter of the International MOMS Club in the League City/Clear Lake Area. The MOMS Club is a non-profit support group for mothers who are home during the day. We have playdates and field trips during the week and a monthly moms night out. Dues are only $25/year (but can be waived if there is financial hardship) and you can attend two events before deciding whether to join.

Check out our local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. We meet at St. Christopher Episcopal Church on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month from 9:30am to 11:30am. Except this month we are meeting the 1st and 2nd Fridays of the month because of spring break and Easter. This would be a great time for you to meet some other Moms in the area. And the Fridays that we don't have meetings we have play-dates scheduled. And once a month we have Mom's Night Out. Gives us a chance to get out just with the girls. We do provide childcare during our meetings, but since yours is so little, you are welcome to keep her in the meeting with you. We do have very qualified and wonderful ladies working in the nursery who haven't had a new baby to hold in a while, so they would be thrilled. Our next meeting is tomorrow morning (3/7/08) and I would love to introduce you to the group. Give you an opportunity to make some connections. Come hungry as we have a great breakfast spread laid out.

There are some really good parks in ther area try some of theme. Challenger park is one that come to mind. They are a good place to walk and just relax
