Hello - I am seeking good sources/agencies any of you have used to find a fulltime in-home babysitter (but not a live in). I am very hesitant to post to Craigslist, etc. and have before now, had great luck through word of mouth finding childcare - I don't have any leads like that at this point, however, and I am running out of time as my family who have been taking care of my boys for the last six months, need to get back to their lives soon. Thanks for any referrals!

My niece is a Nanny for two boys. I believe she posts on nanny.com. They do through screenings.

Good luck to you.

I would put up a job posting flyer at the colleges that offer Early childhood Degrees (Macomb Community College & Rochester College).

I know at Macomb they had a board outside the Early Childhood classroom that only had childcare postings.

We have had great luck with Sittercity.com. There is a membership fee but for us, well worth it. You can browse it for free to see, and then if there is someone you want to contact, you must join. Maybe $40 for a year--or something around that. In spring, there will be a lot of college age sitters lucking for summer time, but there are also full time nannies and sitters too. They show there location and some have references and comments. We also tried Craigslist and actually had some luck. We were looking for Spanish speaking sitters so really were willing to try any mode of search..plus we only need 9 hours a week so we've had several sitters leave us for more hours. I would say, just go with your gut instinct on anyone!
