I'm in a bit of a quandry... I had a gift business that I ran online from my home for a few years, I started selling off some of my products before having my daughter. Now I am sure I do want to do this anymore, but still have many products, and my husband is urging me to sell off this stuff. Ebay is really too time consuming for the stuff that I have left, as I have some things as small as stationary and small children's toys, baby gifts, dog things, etc. He wants me to do a "yard sale" but I am afraid to do this because some of my things you would find at a high end boutique, not garage sale material. I'm willing to take cost or under cost and take a profit loss, but would like to get something. Is there people who do this? Or if I did want to do this as a yard sale how would I get it out there? I need to do this quickly. Any thoughts would be appreciated, I always get great advice on here! ;)
Can you tell me a little more about the products you have? Craigslist would be almost as time consuming as ebay- unless you do it as a bulk sale. Would you mind sharing what total cost you have in everything. I love to ebay and might be interested in buying it from you! Good Luck! M.
Craigslist is free, and you would be suprised at how many people look at it. You can list it as single items or as merchandise in a lot. There maybe some boutique owner you could sell them to as well or possibly a consignment shop. If you know someone who owns a beauty shop or something like that as well, they might let you set it up in their store to sell it. You might also look for a craft mall that rents booths, where you could rent the booth for a month to sell off everything as oppose to the garage sale option.
I would start with Craigslist...it is free so nothing to lose and see if you what kind of response you get. Good luck...
I don't know exactly how you would go about doing this, but the community I live in just had a "Gingerbread Market" sale this past weekend in the clubhouse (and surrounding parking area). Basically, it was for people like you that sell crafty or boutique like items. I think anyone could get a booth at the show (not sure if it cost anything). You may want to look into some of the communities in your area or ask the chamber of commerce if there are any of those type festivals or anything going on in the next couple of months. They tend to pop up around this time so that people can get gifts for the holidays.
I also know that there are some stores popping up that will sell your items on eBay for you. They, of course, take a cut of your earnings, but if you don't have the time for it, that may be an option. I've seen these types of stores in strip malls sometimes. You may just Google it or look in the yellow pages to see if there are any of those around.
One other thought is to see if there is an existing boutique in your area that would be willing to give you some shelf space to sell what you have left or just buy it from you so they can sell it.

I would say ebay is a great idea but is also time consuming.. I did it for a while and now work from home doing Arbonne. If you ever are interested in doing something else, you can look at my website... Let me know when you get them on ebay maybe i will look at some things i cant live without.... my husband is a veterinarian, dog things could be good ha ha... L.

Throwing in my two cents in for craigslist.
I don't have any experience with this sort of thing, but I have used Craigslist in the past to sell/buy items locally and have had luck with that. It is a free site and easy to use. Good luck to you.
Hi why not advertise it on Craigs list? You could either make up the gift baskets or sell the items outright. If you would like to email me personally we do gift baskets for my husbands employees I would love to know what all you have and at what price.

Please email me at ____@____.com husband's employer might be willing to let you come in and sell your stuff to the employees some day. They do this every so often, as a "benefit" to the CSR's who work there.

I would look around for holiday bazaars. They have lots of them at churches, etc. starting around November 1.
If you wanted to yard sale, I would recommend Craig's List. We did that for a spur of the moment garage sale in September and threw a quick posting on there about it... it worked out great for us.
Are their any consignment or second hand stores in your area? They would of course take a percentage of the profit, but you may get more that way than a garage sale or trying to sell it online.

You could try selling your stuff on Craigs List. They have lots of goodies for sale and it's free to advertise. I think it's www.craigslist.com, but you may have to do a search for it.
