Need Ideas for 6Year Bday Party in Winter in Fort Worth

My daughter's bday is in February and each year it seems that the weather is terrible on her party day. I need some ideas of indoor parties (not at my home) that I can do for her. We have done the jump house thing, Little Gym and Chuck E Cheese so I am looking for something different. I am not sure that the school friends would drive to another city (we live in FW). Also, some of her best friends are boys so I don't know about tea parties. We might have to do one but want to hear about other options. And is she too little for skating or bowling? Thanks,C.

What can I do next?

My little sister's birthday is in December and she has often had the same problem. A couple of years ago my mom had her party at some type of lunar mini golf (in the dark with black lights-REALLY COOL) in the Denton Mall. I don't think it's there anymore, but I think there is one in the Grapevine Mills Mall. Not sure if maybe there is one somewhere closer since I know you said her school friends might not come, but you have time to look! The kids had a blast that year! She's also done one at a pottery place in Denton (again, maybe you can find one closer). All the kids got to pick out a piece of pottery and paint it. Then they left it there for a week to be put in the kiln (sp?) and when they got to get it, it was nice and shiny and they had a really cool keepsake! That's about all I can think of, but I hope this helps!

The FW Museum of Science and History, The Cowgirl Museum, and GSX (Global Sports Extreme) are some that we've seen. I think you can do bowling at The Main Event, which is out by Hulen. I would only use a smoke-free bowling alley like Main Event, because the others are so nasty.

Get a copy of this month's Fort Worth Child before they are gone - the July issue is their "directory" issue and they list tons of ideas for everything you might need. Good luck!

If you don't mind your little girl getting dressed up and she doesn't mind ditching the boys until cake time try Sweet and Sassy- http://www.sweetandsassy.com/. They are in Southlake Town Square. She probably isn't too little for skating or even bowling, but what does she like? Or try a themed party- http://www.ooglesngoogles.com/birthday-parties-ftworth-tx.... Have an indoor swim party at Emler's in Colleyville- http://iswimemler.com/bparties.html. There's a natatorium in Keller and Keller Pointe for other indoor swim options.

Let me know if you need more suggestions! That's my job, I'm a party planner!

We have done "Build-a-Bear" a few times for my daughter. Her birthday is in January and she too has several boy friends. Her cousin just had a "go to the movies" party that everyone loved. Hope that helps.

Maybe calling one of those traveling petting zoo type things. Some have just a couple of "holdable" animals that could be brought inside. I went to a party recently for a 7-year-old boy. There were boys and girls at his party and all seemed to enjoy the animals. His mom also themed the party around the animals. They were able to touch and or hold iguanas, baby alligator, large birds, etc. I am not aware of the name but I have seen ads for these and other fun options in the back of Fort Worth Child magazine.

Try a swim party at Aquakids off Heritage Trace. They have heated indoor pools my sister did a football party there in Nov. and the kids loved it.
