Hello all! I know there are some very creative mom's on this site and I need your help. My soon to be 8yr. old daughter is having a slumber party. For the invites I have made little pillowcases and plan on "stuffing" the pillow with the actual invite. However, I want something cute for the wording and have just hit a mental block--Help!!
Thanks!

How about this...

(Your Daughter's name) is turning 8
We're having a slumber party to celebrate

Pillows, P.J.'s and all kinds of fun
It's going to be super - we hope you can come

Then list all the pertinent info - date/time/location

BE BLESSED!

"Now I lay me down to sleep".....Heavens No, we're not going to sleep. This is a slumber party. We're gonna pop corn, watch movies, paint toe-nails, tell funny stories and do anything we can think of to stay awake all night so we can sleep the next day. Bring your PJs, hair stuff because we'll be doing hair styles, nail polish (the more colors the better)....NOTE: or the hostess could provide three or four nail polish colors, they're not expensive. And provide disposable cameras for funny pictures.

Suggestion #1
Snack foods & pillow fights
telling stories till dawn's early light.
Beauty tips and doing our hair,
talking about boys, if only my parents weren't gonna be there!
Wear your PJ's and join us for
(Child's Name)
Slumber Party !
The fun begins on...

Suggestion #2
We'll order pizza & watch movies too,
and do all the things that girls like to do.
Like paint our nails and our toes,
and stay up all night as everyone knows!

How about:
"Don't sleep on it, please RSVP for the best slumber party ever!" Then add the party information: time, date, etc.

All of these ideas look great.... the only thing that I would add would be using clock related wording:

Hickory dickory dock, the clock strikes 5 O'clock and friends arrive
the clock strikes 6 and we eat
the clock strikes 7....

8 is great and (daughters name) can relate

To be honest.... the cleverness beyond the invites in the pillowcases (which sounds really nice) is really for the parents.... have you asked your daughter what she wants the wording to be?

have a great party.
blessings,
stacy

Hi Mom!

Here's a simple idea (I'll assume your daughter's name is Leslie):

This looks like a pillow
But it's really an invite.
Leslie is dying to know
If you can spend the night!

I cheated and went to this site to get ideas for words that rhymed with "pillow". http://www.rhymer.com/RhymingDictionary

When my daughter was about your age, she had a slumber party with 8 girls over. She told them to bring their hair accessories. They sat in a circle and did each other's hair, and I filmed it. They had a lot of fun! Good luck!
