I kind of wanted to get the 2 seater bike trailers that I see everyone riding around with, but I want to get one (if at all possible) that is convertible into a double stroller... Does anyone know if this is something that they actually make? Or any suggestions as to which trailer is best if they don't make the double purpose ones. THANKS!!!!

So What Happened?

Went with the InStep from Target, cheap works for what I need it for ~ it's a little snug, but they can deal with it! They're skinny!!! :-)

I just bought one at sports authority. It is made by Columbia and does have the stroller attachment. My kids like it....here is what it looks like. I paid $159.99 for it.

I have the Target one. Last year it was a Schwinn, but this year the exact same thing says InStep on the box. It's affordable, easy to use, and I love it. I use it for my twins who just turned 2, and sometimes my skinny little 6 year old squeezes in there with them.

they do actually make these. i found one on ebay several years ago. the stroller was kind of large, as the front wheel attached to the same arm that hooked teh trailer to the bike, but we used it until the kids outgrew it as both a trailer and a stroller! i'm sorry, i don't know the brand. maybe try ebay?

I love my instep trailer (also love my instep single jogging stroller). Mine does not convert, but YES, they do make jogging strollers that convert-we rented one in Colorado and borrowed a cousin's in Wyoming.

My jogging stroller does not have a moving front wheel which is harder for turns and doesn't always stay straight. I also don't jog much with it (mostly walk). Consider lifting both kids onto just the back wheels as you make a turn if you look at a stable front wheel.

Good luck.

I'm lookinf for just the trailer but just saw a convertible trailer at Play It Again Sports. It was a TREK
convertible trailer and turns into a jogger for 2 kids. Good Luck!

I am a mommy of 1 21month year old girl. She received a "kid karriage"(as I believe it is called) as a first birthday present & we both love it! I believe it came from Wal-Mart & the brand is Nashbar & it holds up to 2 children, not sure of the weight limit. I know the box said that it converts to be used as a stroller, but not sure how that works, have never tried to. Great investment...I love it! Good Luck, E.

Burley make a fantastic bike trailer that has a converter handle. You can't take it shopping, but for walking or even running it is great.

I LOVE our stoller/bike trailer. Our familiy refers to it as the Cadillac of strollers. Its a Chariot/Cougar 2 and we bought it at Pedal & Spoke in Aurora, IL. It was pricey however we have totally gotten every penny worth of use. What I really like about it is that the front has multp. options, I choose the swivel wheels vs a single wheel in the front. The swivel allows easier turns when rollerblading.

Burley makes a great double (or single) bike trailer that has an optional, removable handle for use as stroller. Burley brand is really well designed and lightweight. It collapses very easily and can fit into even a small trunk. It has a removable screen cover for bugs and a full fabric cover for cold/rain with windows for viewing. I used the double trailer for one child with extra gear or for a friend riding along. Even with two kids inside there is room for some extra things; water, blankets, etc. It is hands down one of the best baby gear purchases I ever made.

I have used mine for 5 years and put many, many bike miles on it. My son no longer fits into it, but I will keep it for a stroller for friends or visitors, or trailing gear/supplies on a bike trip.

We have the Trek GoBug which we have really enjoyed. My son has always seemed very comfortable in it, the seat is off the ground and it is easy to fold down/put together. You can get the optional wheel to turn it into a stroller, but it is a bit big to use anywhere other than outside.

Ours came with a bug and rain shield. And the push handle folds down when you're using it just as a bike trailer making it very convenient.

Good luck shopping.
