Need Help Getting Stains Out of Clothing!

While preparing for a garage sale, I unpacked my daughter's baby clothes and found that most of them had yellow stains on them! I know they weren't there when I packed them away, because I was very careful to get any stains out as they happened. I have tried soaking them with Clorox 2 and detergent, but it hasn't helped yet. All suggestions are welcome (and will be tried)!!! Thanks!

Soaking in Oxiclean got the same type of stains out of my daughter's clothes. It also gets out stains that have been through the dryer. We just get the powder and mix according to the directions on the box.

My sons were always getting stains on clothes, so soaking became a regular part of doing the laundry. I used to soak them in a tub of water with 1/4 cup clorox, and 1/4 cup Cascade dishwashing detergent. Use the dry, automatic dishwasher detergent, and make sure the clothes are colorsafe. This worked well for formula stains and any kind of food stains. I let them soak in the washer overnight, then just ran the load as usual in the morning. It's not a perfect solution, but works for most. Good luck, D.

The same thing happened to me! But, I was getting them out for my second child. They were clean when I packed them away, after #1. I assumed they were formula stains. Now, this was about 30 years ago, so... the formula may have changed. I used powdered Biz. It was a presoak type of laundry aid. I always soaked my cloth diapers in it too, and got praises on my sparkling white diapers. I just mixed up a solution of Biz and hot water and soaked things overnight. Then, I washed them as usual and the stains were gone. I saw Biz a while back, in the powdered form still, but saw a commercial for a liquid the other day, on TV. Like I said, in 30 years, they may have changed their 'recipe', but it sure was a lifesaver back then. It would be worth a try!

Good Morning R., First good luck on your garage sale. You are a brave woman..LOL I really dislike having them ALOT.. lol

I picked up a Oxyclean spray last week at Wally World. I thought I would give it a try, I started with my white slip on canvas shoes. It had a large grease or oil stain on the top side. The oxyclean spray is a gel like substance so it doesn't run off the item like some sprays do. I basically followed the directions to spray the stain rub in and let sit about 10 min. I did all of it but didn't wait the 10 minutes. I just keep rubbing until I saw the stain coming out and threw it in the washer. I Was So Happy with the results. Today I am gathering up all the bibs I use for Zane and getting them scrubbed and cleaned. He finally like PBJ. You almost have to force new things in his mouth to try. Once he finally gets a taste of it it's ok. Had to Force Corbin's B-day cake into him last Wed...lol HE loved it once he tried it.

So go get some of the new Oxyclean spray, I think you will like it!! I sure do.
God Bless

Amazing laundry spot remover

I just had to share this. My sister spilled a glass of red wine all over my
son's new polo shorts and he was very upset because they cost a lot of money and
he paid for them. I washed them and washed them, sprayed them with shout, used
borax did everything and could not get it out. I did a search and found a
mixture that is just so amazing. I wish I knew
about this when my kids were young because I would have saved a lot of clothes
with stains.

It is a little bit (about 1 teaspoon) of blue dawn dish soap mixed with about
1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide. It took out the wine completely. So I decided to
go around the house and try a bunch of things. It took out chocolate that had
been washed and dried many times and a huge blood stain out of my husbands white
undershirt. I could not believe it. I mixed it in a spray bottle and sprayed
it real good. I had to do it 3 times on the blood. The trick is when it dries
it disappears. Anyway, maybe you could save some of those baby clothes with
those baby food stains that never come out! Remember it may take more than once
but let it naturally dry before each application.

Also it did not take any color out. People on the website used it on carpet and
furniture.

Nature Bright by Shaklee. You will have to find a distributor but I used it on my own white shirts. It works great with formula stains. About $15 for a box that will last forever.

Totally Toddler Stain Remover from Babies R Us. I read about it online when my mom & I were cleaning some baby clothes I was given, and it is AMAZING stuff. It's $10 for a huge bottle, and Mom just put it in a squirt bottle and squirted a little right on the stains. It took out all the aged and laundered-in spit up, formula, food, poop, everuthing stains. The only thing it didn't fix were the mildew stains on those few shirts that had been put away damp. We love Totally Toddler, and it smells really good, too!

Since the stains are all over, I'd try powdered OxyClean, just mix it and let it soak. I usually let things soak overnight. they should be clean when you pull them out to wash them , but you could also rub any leftover spots together before throwing them in the wash. I've gotten almost any kind of stain out.

I had a baby book that told me to use one cup each of laundry detergent, colorsafe bleach and dishwasher detergent. Soak for 24 hours. I have tried this several times and have always gotten the stains out. I always do this in the washer, then run it through the regular cycle.
