I need help finding a good OBGYN. I changed my insurance to my husband's work insurance because I'm not working any more. The doctor who delivered my seven month old daughter doesn't take my current insurance. I'm covered under AvMed which is an HMO. I could chioce any doctor from the network but I would rather get recommendations for a good doctor and then call to see if they will take my insurance.Just wondering if any can recommend a doctor? I just found out that I'm pregnant and I just had my daughter seven months ago. I'm trying not to stress about it. Just need to take it day by day. Right?

So What Happened?

Hello Everyone
I would just like to say thank you to all of you. Your advice was really helpful. I decided to go with the office in Royal Palm located in coral springs. It seems like the doctors are really good and it's close to where I live. Once again thank you :)

Hi S. -

I found out I was pregnant one month after moving down here from Chicago. I got a recommendation from a woman working at Carters of all places!!! I love my OB/GYN. He has wonderful bedside manner and is very compentant in his care. I had to have an emergency C-Section in April and felt very comfortable in his care and decision making. He really makes you feel comfortable. I didn't call him too much with concerns through the pregnancy but always answered all my questions and never made me feel silly!! I go to Doctor Jay Cohen @ All Woman's Healthcare of West Broward. He is in Plantation just West of the Mall off Broward. He delievers at Plantation General Hospital. The phone number is ###-###-####.

Good Luck and Congrats on the pregnancy!!

the doctor I saw when I was pregnant plus my regualr ob was Kathy Fair and christine hackshaw.. they were the best and plus they were midwives so even more helpful.. Bonus too kathy fair was also on one of those birth shows i can't remember if it was bringing home baby or the deliver one. I wouldn't change them for anything they are sooo helpful they give you the feeling that they are there to help you with anything not those type of doctors that come in and out they talk to you and comfort you. they are on Riverside and Royal palm in coral springs im not sure if this is ur area?

Hi S.,
I don't know what area you want your OBGYN to be in, but I had a baby 5 weeks ago and my doc (Dr Michael Fleischer) was AMAZING. He has 2 offices in Boca, one east and one west and delivers at either West Boca or Boca Community. He's got his own practice, so you see him at every visit and he delivers your baby (not like some practices where you get who ever is on call). His office runs really smoothly too, throughout my whole pregnancy I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appt. He was awesome. Good luck!!!

Omega Womens Center in Coral Springs is awesome. They deliver at Coral Springs Medical, and Northwest in Margate. The office is huge, and I know they just remodeled the whole place. It's located just south of Copans (Royal Palm) on University. They have 4 midwives and 4 doctors. A midwife delivers you unless there are any complications, then you get a doctor. I loved everyone except one doctor. He just had no bedside manner at all. I'm sure they would take your new insurance, because I know they take Medicaide, so they probably take everything. Since you're in Pompano you would probably want to go to Northwest. That's where I delivered and I loved it. Good Luck!!!!

Dr. Gil Aronson. He has an office in Hollywood, FL and he is in Weston, FL 1 day a week. He delivers at the memorial hospitals in Hollywood and in Pembroke Pines. I know he used to take that exact insurance because my relative who recommended him had that but of course make sure he is on your list. Anyway he was was my first child and he answered all of my questions and I could not believe how fast he got to the hospital when I was in labor. Good luck hope you find someone you like.

Hi S.,

I was once too in your shoes! My daughter was 7 1/2 months old when I found out I was pregnant again with my son. They are now 3 1/2 & 2 yrs old and I love having them close together! It definately was not easy when my son was born, but they love each othr to pieces right now and share everything! I actually can't see my life any other way...LOL! Just take it one day at a time! As for doctors I can recommend two:
Dr. Pappas/Dr. Robert Klein- ###-###-####
Dr. Robert Siudmak- ###-###-####

Both are wonderful & patient.
Let me know how it goes!
