Need Help Finding a Family Friendly Beach

My family is trying to plan a beach vacation somewhere on the east coast that would be clean and fun. We also are trying to plan for kids ages 2, 3, 10, and 12. We want something that works for everyone and would love to find a beach house to rent as well. Any recommendations? Also, has anyone tried Virginia Beach?

What can I do next?

I don't know when you are planning your trip, but if it is in July or August, why not consider a family beach vacation to Northern Michigan and keep your money local? There are tons of beautiful sugar sand beaches with sand dunes and cute little towns from Saugatuck all the way up the west coast on Lake Michigan that can give you everything the east coast can. I am originally from Harbor Springs, so my bias is evident, but I really think there are a lot of really great places for families to go right here in our own state. Have fun planning wherever you go!

Try looking at the Outer banks in N Carolina - lots of houses to rent and great clean beaches. Not too commercialized but plenty to do. Lots of history too - Wright brothers stuff and Roanoake should appeal to the 10 and 12 year old. Google beach vacation outer banks for starting points for rentals

I am originally from Connecticut and vacation every summer on the CT shoreline. I know a very nice family beach that is on Long Island Sound, which is great for little ones...no big waves or dangerous undertoes. Not sure what you are looking for in a beach. This is very small, private, no big boardwalk or anything like that but they do movies on the beach and bingo on the beach at night. If you would like more information, please contact me.
