This is a strange request but can anyone suggest a comfortable, supportive but not too expensive bra for a size 44C? I prefer front closure also.
Just thought I'd ask in case anyone has found one.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Victorias Secret makes great bras and in many different styles and if you catch them on sale you can get good prices and they actually have sales pretty often.

I'd recommend the Playtex outlet at the outlet mall in Allen. The saleswomen there are very helpful, and will give you a fitting if you need it. They stock a very big selection of styles and sizes, but they'll also order anything for you that they don't have in stock, with free shipping. Plus, you pay outlet prices, which is always better than full price! Their prices are better than Kohl's/JCPenny full price, although if you have the time and energy to wait for sales, you can sometimes find a sale price cheaper. GL!

I can not give you a specific style or brand of bra but if you have the time, go to Nordstroms and be fitted and they will help you find a great bra. They aren't cheap but it was the best money I have ever spent. I had been wearing the wrong size for years. I had been wearing a 34 DD, it turns out that I should be wearing a 32 F! Its is the best fitting, best feeling, most supportive bra I have ever worn.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck finding what you are looking for.

I would try Lane Bryant. They have a wide variety of styles and sizes, but aren't as expensive as, say, Victoria's Secret. I know that they will probably hold up better than the ones from Walmart or Target. Good Luck!

SASSYBAX! I love them, and even though I'm still nursing, I don't have to use the underwire style - shocking! They support me with barely any bounce or shimmy (which I hate). Plus, NO back fat! I also discovered Bezi Bra Discs by Edith which completely hides my nipples no matter what I wearing. I'm SOLD on both! J.

Have you tried getting a bra fitted? I know it might sound crazy, but I went in to Penny's after my first was born and was going nuts cause I kept not being able to fit into the bras I thought I should fit into. I talked to one of the ladies at penny's and she said I should try a different brand. It turns out that the bra shoulder straps of different brands are made for different sizes of people. I'm a short people and was buying bras built for tall people and not getting the fit that I really was looking for. The first one she gave me fit like a wonder! And I don't mind spending a few dollars (20-30) on a good bra because they will last a long time (unless you out grow them one way or another) and one that really fits comfortably will make you feel that much better about yourself - like showering in the morning instead of skipping showers. You just feel better. I get mine at Penny's cause I feel they have reasonable prices and I've always been able to find something that fits good there.

I purchased mine at the Playtex store at the Allen Outlet. The bras are very reasonably priced. At the store they do bra sizing and that made a world of difference for picking out the right size.

I am larger and have used the Maddox Shop in Casa Linda Shopping Center for many years. They will fit you and have any type bra in styles and colors you like. They will also alter it if needed while you wait a few minutes. It is also a shop many women go to who have had surgeries and need special help in this area. They are not expensive, and also have nursing bras. All sizes from small to really large. Worth checking out.

i found some bras on www.braexperience.com when i was looking for some specific nursing bras/workout bras...I remember them having a TON of sizes...
may want to check it ou. they seem to always have specials too. however, it does stink because there is no way to try them on and i think they charge a restocking fee for returns...
I was desperate, so it didn't bother me that much!!
Good luck...i HATE bra shopping!!

Hello -- I am near the same size as you, and my favorite bra is the Bali Double Support COTTON. I get them at Kohls or JC Penny. Watch their sale ads, sometimes Kohls has all bras 14.99 or buy 2 get 1 free. These are not front closure, but I have searched and searched and finally found a bra that is comfy and I LOVE the cotton, its so soft and doesn't make me hot. GOOD LUCK :)

As a woman that wears a 42H the best place to buy bras is Dillard's. You can get a good bra for about $20. You might check JC Penney's too, but Dillard's is probably your best bet. The Dillard's at the Hulen mall in Ft. Worth is very good to measure you and to help you get the right fit which is important in comfort. Almost all of the ladies that work in the lingerie dept. are trained in bra fitting so don't be embarrassed to ask them to measure you and help you find the right bra. good luck in your search

I recently purchased a Vanity Fair bra in 44D with a front closure at Kohl's. The back straps criss-cross so they never slip off of my shoulders. It is definitely one of the most comfortable bras I own. Even better, I waited for a 40% off sale!

If the link doesn't work it's item # A00108 at qvc.com. You can also sometimes find this bra on Ebay.

Go to Dillards at Collin Creek Mall. There is an EXPERT Fitter there and I think her name is Stella. She is wonderful! She fitted me for my bra for my wedding 11 1/2 yrs ago and if still giving me a good fit. She is an older kind woman that will measure you and find you a bra. You don't have to go searching through a million bras to find your size!

I wear that same size and I buy mine at Walmart. I think the one I have at home that is front closure is a Playtex and the other ones that I wear are Just My Size. They are both comfortable. I don't wear underwires so if you are looking for those, I am not sure what they have in those but without the wires, these are the two that I have found and are really reasonably priced.

You can go online to onehanesplace.com or to the Hanes Store at Grapevine Mills Mall. I personally like the Bali bras for support and no seams on the cup. I don't know if Bali has the front closure but there are several brand at this site.

Hi. If you like mail order, try www.roamans.com They have a great front closure bra by Exquisite Form, style 1724. This one does not have an underwire (I hate wires), and the back is wide and has plenty of support front and back. It's the most comfortable bra I've worn.

Wal-mart has fantastic full-figure bras up to 44...they have cute ones and standard styles and fabrics.
I love their lace ones because they only have two clasps in the back. If you can find a 40 or 42 that you like, you can also get bra extenders...I had to use those when I got pregnant...just used my same bras and extended them. Try the ones they carry...they are nice quality and have lasted me for years! Underwire or not, I like them.

I wear a 40D, and I swear by Baronette (could be different spelling) by Cacique, sold in Layne Bryant Stores. It is a back hook, but I'm sure Cacique (spelling again) would have something that would work. Their bras are about $25 each, but last very well for a couple of years. I always wash them by hand and drip dry them.

I wish I had a brand to tell you. I did work in the lingerie business for several years & just wanted to let you know that a front closure, while convenient cannot give you the best support. Even at a 38c, I can tell a huge difference in the support in a good back closure vs. a high quality front closure. I will ask my friends. I have a few girlfriends who may be able to give a specific brand to help you out. Best of luck to you.

I have a tough time finding the right bra for me, I'm a 34F

I like all Fantasie brand bras, I haven't tried a front closure though. You can find them and lots of other bras at this online bra store - http://www.figleaves.com, I plan on buying my next bra there. I also really like Loretta's Intimates in the Parker Square retail area of Flower Mound. They have a store in Plano too.

Not a strange request at all!!! I was a fitter for almost 20 years, so I've seen all and heard all! Get someone at Dillard's to measure you if you've never been measured. It does make a huge difference. You won't have to get naked to be measured, either. I worked for Dillards in the midwest and all the divisions do try to have the best selection. Choose a larger store and the size selection will be better.
